Reflecting

After rationalizing all those sequins – I quickly found myself falling for the sparkly, bold, metallic pieces from Maryam Nassir Zadeh’s collection.
Perhaps it’s the brilliant way in which she photographs everything, but I want it all. To wear with jeans, to wear with my bright shiny attitude. Also – it feels like these little moments of shimmering goodness are the perfect anecdotes to our otherwise dull fall wardrobe.
Will we be the reflection of our former summer selves this autumn in metallic leather or sidestep any hint of fun-loving wears?
Bonne question !

Leather metallics sing to me over sequins any day! Much as I love them, my sequins always fall off, or snag on seat-belts/others’ clothing/my pets!
I love metallic leather so much, that I have a leather copper hooded bomber, a slightly oversized gold leather biker jacket, and a full-length gold leather trench – each less than $200 from Etsy. I also regularly wear gold leather loafers, gold Adidas leather sneakers, and silver leather lace ups – not to be worn simultaneously with the jackets… although I can feel that one day soon, my inner Tin Man (from the Wizard of Oz) shall burst forth: “if everyone wears all black/navy/red/grey/denim, why can’t we do all metallic”, he says ;-)
