The first look is beautiful, but my favorite is the one in the grey coat and red shoes. It is poetically chic, and the perfect mix of color and coy. Tres belle.

Great post! Now I am re-thinking some of my old coats – I have a thing for coats, too – and how I can wear them differently. Some of them are sooooo old and dated looking! But if I roll up the sleeves, throw on a belt, there might be hope!
The five euro one is great! I got a Pierre Cardin one for the same price at a thrift shop in Milan near the Duomo, you should check it out! Love the fact that you wear coats and parkas and not duvets!

Je suis d’accord avec vous les filles, la photo ou Garance a les cheveux lachés est la plus belle, et ça lui va super bien ! J’adore la tenue aussi, gris et bleu marine, très belle association !
I also agree (I understand French but I’d rather reply in English ;). Your hair rocks and it looks soo nice when it’s loose! :) I always envy people with naturally curly hair.

J’ajoute de l’eau à ce moulin : Garance, vous êtes très très bien les cheveux lachés! Non seulement ils sont magnifiques mais ils vous adoucissent le visage et vous rajeunissent.

Très sympa tout ça, un peu trop de gris à mon goût mais cool ! Moi aussi j’ai pleins de manteaux. C’est sur que l’hiver c’est le truc qui change direct un look. Alors il faut les collectionner. Mais c’est vrai que parfois certaine coupe se démode plus vite que d’autre, alors je les vends. Mon préféré en ce moment c’est un Céline marine et cuir noir que j’ai depuis 2 saisons, il est juste à tomber. Le problème du manteau, c’est aussi qu’il n’est pas hyper chaud donc dés 5° il faut passer aux fourrures, peaux lainés & Co que j’affectionne aussi ! Pour le caban Isabel Marant, j’avais aussi craqué mais en l’essayant je me suis vite rendue compte qu’il était coupé pour les grandes ! Avec mon 1m63 il me faisait une carrure démesurée, un peu ridicule :-)

The second coat is perfect! I see it in a video a few posts ago and was in love! Casual, oversize, sophisticated and just beautiful.
I love your style in coats!! You have an effortless way of looking chic even in the chilly months of beautiful layers and textures. And yes, I do have to admit, that even though I LOVE shoes…I love the character a great coat says about someone. Bright one, long ones, patterned and furry…they are all the best!
And what coincidence there was a coat that I saw you wearing in a photo on StyleSheet a few days ago that I couldn’t help but admire!

I hope you still have the vintage coat, it`s sublime! (As is your entire look in that photo – including your hair!)
I also have a full wardrobe of coats and jackets, as I do believe they make or break your overall look. Right now in Toronto, it`s been like 11 to 14 degrees (celsius) one day, then 2 degrees the next, so my ultra small closet is bursting! Normally I pack away my outerwear, and only keep a small selection of the relevant season in my closet, and pull out any others for special occasions.
And although I do not like parkas (it`s a Canadian winter rebellion thing) yours is gorgeous!!!!!! Big ups to Scott!

Le manteau à 5 euros est ouf, c’est vrai que c’est gris mais c’est cool le gris!
et natalia porte ta robe sur net-a-porter! je l’ai vu au show givenchy, elle est bien plus belle en vrai je trouve bizarrement!
Moi aussi je surkiffe les manteaux, j’aime l’hiver pour ca! les accessoires, gants, mitaines, echarpes, foulards, bonnets, chapeaux, collants, pfiouuuu!

Le premier manteau ceinture et la parka sont mes preferes……mais j’aime aussi les autres.
J’adore les longs manteaux d’homme, j’en ai un gris, et je cherche un noir désespérément.
J’adorais pouvoir prendre ceux de mon copain, mais il est tellement grand que je disparais totalement dans ses vêtements!

La dernière fois au Guerrisol, j’ai déniché un manteau / trench Yves Saint Laurent en laine camel à 3€, sans réfléchir et sans même regarder la taille, il était illico à la caisse. Mais il y a une question que je me pose souvent, ces manteaux, aussi beaux soient-ils, sont pour ainsi dire très bien portés sur les personnes assez grandes (plus de 1m80 j’entends). Sur tes photos ils sont tellement parfaits, mais ce sont des pièces qui ne vont vraiment pas à tout le monde, c’est un véritable drame pour moi.
Du coup, YSL reste une pièce de collection que je garde précieusement, même si ce n’est, et c’est bête de dire ça, que pour détenir ne serait-ce qu’un vêtement de la marque. Je ne me verrai jamais le revendre par exemple, ça me fendrait le coeur.

i am the same way with coats! so glad to hear someone else is addicted to them, too! i prefer vintage cuts and styles and fabrics, and love special details like stitching and buttons. i am in the wrong climate for my addiction (houston, texas), but i keep them anyway, because i plan to move at some point.

I live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and I’m also addicted to coats and jackets. I’m actually not allowed to bring any more home! It’s a shame we never get to wear them. It’s 80 degrees out today.

J’adore également les manteaux, et j’avais remarqué que tu en as toujours des déments ! J’aime cette façon que tu as de remonter tes manches, même par -5 degrés (!), ça équilibre les volumes de tes pièces qui sont souvent ouversize.

Je t’admire parce que moi je suis nulle en manteau… et c’est encore pire aux Etats Unis ou je n’arrive pas à trouver un manteau 100% laine abordable… en gros j’attends d’être à Paris dans 10 jours ou je vais encore me faire avoir à payer plein pot entre les ventes privées et le soldes;-) l’année dernière j’ai quand même acheté deux manteaux en 10 jours que j’ai fini par ramener;-)
Enfin le manteau et moi tout une histoire… j’aimerai bien finir par trouver MON MANTEAU mais ce n’est pas gagné;-)

hi Garance! You look fantastic either way :-) If I may I’d just advise you to wear your hair down more often! I like this photo of you very much! You are a lucky owner of curly hair since you don’t have to style them to be curly :-) I know (i really do ;-) that “naturally” curly hair doesn’t look that super shiny and “in place” likt those curls made by the hairstylist – it tends to be messy, sometimes “not quite straight not quite curly” but wouldn’t you say, that this hair reflects your personality? That creativity, a little bit of craziness and inner smile? Not every hairstylist can tame curly hair but those that can, can also give the owner of mentioned hair pleasure of having really unique “signature” :-) Of course – your bun is also that sweet because of curly hair and it just comes to what you prefer but just think about it ;-)

Love the parka! I have been looking for a Mr & Mrs Fur parka and when I found it online it was over $5000 US dollars! (it was probably cheaper in Italy). So, I have the next best thing- a vintage fishtail parka (which is what the shell of the Mr & Mrs Fur is made of). But the warmth factor must be incredible with the fur!

Garance, I am so sad to think you would wear real fur. It would be amazing if you would be an advocate against fur because you obviously have a lot of influence on many people and their choices; perhaps you could speak with Stella McCartney some time. You could really make a difference.
