Let's Talk About
Light My Fire
7 years ago by Brittany
I have this thing with candles. And honestly, the colder it gets outside and the shorter the days become, the more intense my candle obsession grows. There is something so nice about getting home from work when it’s dark outside and burning a candle to bring a little more light inside. Especially around the holidays, I love how candles can create a festive atmosphere.
Instead of your NYC apartment, you can be sitting in a cozy library by a blazing fire with a forest of pine trees outside your window.
What are your favorite candles for the holiday season??
the portable fireplace by DS & Durga!
I’m really into the mulled wine scents this winter! Goes well with some glogi in the evening :)

I’m obsessed with Malie candles from here in Hawaii- they perfectly replicate the scent of the trees and plants in my neighborhood. But since it has been cooler and rainier lately, I am burning Fraser Fir candles all the time!
Mine is exactly that one, Bibliotheque by Byredo. It smells like old books!

I am mad about the ones from Anthropologie and Bath & body works. Right now it’s Vanilla&fig and Gingerbread.

those made with beeswax, and IF fragranced, made with REAL scent oils, not synthetic!
Don’t wait until it’s dark to light candles! In northern Europe (Germany, Denmark, for example) the candles are lit first thing in the morning during the winter months, so the grey days are bearable. First thing I do on a Saturday morning from November through March is light a taper or two and my day has begun. And I love the violet candle by Laduree in the pink porcelain cup.
