Laure Heriard Dubreuil’s Houston
8 years ago by

You might remember Laure from our Miami city guide, or perhaps you know here from her from her amazing store, The Webster. Speaking of which, she’s recently opened a store location in Houston – today she shares with us her favorite bits of the Texas city.
Best part of getting to spend time in Houston: Since opening in January of 2016, I have had the opportunity to spend many days in Houston and getting to know the local community has been the best part of this new venture.
Favorite place to eat: Fernando’s – it’s the most incredible Mexican cuisine and their queso fundido is a must try!
Best souvenir someone could bring back: A vintage collectible object from one of the vendors at The Pavillion, an antiques and interiors design collective.
Best place for a cocktail: Anvil Bar and Refuge, in the Montrose section, is hands down one of my favorite places in Houston to unwind; their cocktails are delicious and inventive without being overly complicated.
Most unexpected thing about the city: The Menil House, which was designed by Philip Johnson in 1948, was the one of the first great modernist houses in Texas.
Houston is so vibrant and is a great location for a new store! I live in Austin, Texas which is just a 3 hour drive from Houston and go to Houston frequently for work. Perhaps opening a location in Austin would be a great idea :)

Houston is changing and growing every day. The city is definitely a great choice for the store. A lot of fashionistas here :)
