Anna Sheffield’s Future Heritage Project
5 years ago by
A few weeks ago I stopped by Anna Sheffield’s new store at 19 Bleecker to peruse… the bling :)
What I wasn’t expecting was to fall in love with her turquoise pieces that are a part of her Future Heritage Project. Yes, at first glance it’s a gorgeous onslaught of turquoise for the eyes, but if you look a tad closer you’ll see a sparkle from a diamond poking out here or there.
Not only is it like a fun gold tooth in a mouth full of veneers, but it also helps rehabilitate older turquoise jewelry that would be otherwise discarded due to missing pieces of turquoise. The fact that it updates the pieces with a modern (bling-y) twist is the cherry on top.
Actually, the real cherry on top is that 20% of the sales from the Future Heritage Project benefit The Future Heritage Fund. Founded by Anna Sheffield and created in partnership with the New Mexico Community Foundation (NMCF), the fund allocates monies to a range of cultural, environmental and educational non – profit organizations in New Mexico.
Go take a gander for yourself (along with her gorgeously designed store) next time you’re meandering down Bleecker.
