Three Looks with Belle Kröl
5 years ago by
When Belle showed up to model for our tomboy fashion shoot, we couldn’t get over how cool her personal style was. She mixes timeless classic pieces with more modern accessories that hold a bit of edge. She also masters the “done/ undone” look–the slightly fraying jean hem, the lived-in slouchy t-shirt, the tousled hair. And like the editorial that we shot her for, she always carries herself with a bit of tomboy energy. Meet, our friend, Belle!
Describe your style in three words or phrases.
Easy, effortless, comfortable.
What is your ideal outfit or uniform?
I’m quite a tomboy, I think my ideal outfit will always be a good white t-shirt (the softer the better), high waisted Levi’s, and boots or loafers.
What is the most treasured item in your closet?
My leather jacket that I designed, no other can beat it :P
Who or what are inspired by?
It might sound cliché, but art inspires me. Whenever I’m feeling down, uninspired or just bored (which happens a lot), I have an urge to draw, paint and to go to a museum. The Met is my second home.
How does your style change when you’re living in New York?
I just take more style risks. Not that I do it too frequently, but I think New York has a special ‘something’ that dares you to step up your dressing game. It’s not really about what you wear though, it’s all about the way you wear it.
Ok now tell us your favorite….
Song of the moment?
1979 by The Smashing Pumpkins, on repeat. I was born in the wrong era.
Magazine?
Architectural Digest, I just love it.
Designer?
I think Daniel Lee is doing such a great job at Bottega. And Isabel Marant has always been my girl.
Breakfast?
Coffee! Or my beloved Argentinian Mate.
Style icon?
Brigitte Bardot, always. And Francoise Hardy, very French of me.
