The Edit No. 5 / Part 4 – Surely Shearling

Okay, I’ve already told of my devotion to that warm & fuzzy Acne jacket, and Part 4 of Edit No.5 just happens to continue on in my most unfortunate infatuation with one of winter’s biggest trends, shearling!
Despite how hard I try, I must say, it’s THE warmest coat you could wear in the polar temperatures to come. In fact, wearing shearling is prehistoric (I’m MORE than happy to discuss all things surrounding shearling in the comments – open forum!) – dating back to the stone age when cavemen, yes, men who didn’t have a proper flat or central air/heat, gleefully donned the warm, light, and soft sheepskin. Today, the traditional garment has come a long way and in so many beautiful interpretations. Brilliant hues of azalea pinks and rich blues, not to mention the surprisingly chic faux versions hitting the market.
These Fall pictures are amazing!
Gorgeous inspiration! <3

I too love shearling but unfortunately in LA it rarely gets cold enough to wear it. So I have to keep my obsession to a minimum. Enjoy NY cold.
These pictures are stunning! I love fall colors x

Gorgeous and brilliant! I hate puffy jackets — these seem like a great alternative.

Ah!
How I adore your
Lightness, your
Warmth.
Your always-welcoming embrace
As I reluctantly lift
One
Foot, in front of
The other, on a knife-sharp, winter’s
Morning, or
Slinking through the
Brutally nose-numbing
Night.
An ode to enduring Love… or to my trusty Winter companion for the past four years (an olive, long, cocoon shearling jacket) ;-)
