Summer Suiting
6 years ago by
I wanted to create a story around this style concept/idea I ask myself while curating my personal wardrobe, “What are my other options for this season?” This simple question helps me navigate through my collection of garments. Shifting the predictable pieces towards the back of my ever-so-small closet, and giving attention to other pieces such as THE summer suit! I know what you’re thinking! THE HEAT. But let’s tour through these four summer looks. After all, this style story is dedicated to those who want something a bit different for this season and refuse to be boxed in by the weather app! I mean, a loose trouser is much more comfortable than your summer denim anyways!
Oh Tibi, you have outdone yourself! This double-breasted, lavender blazer is a Tibi favorite and is the color of the season. Mixing textiles, I layered a cropped, cream, knit-woven tank underneath.
Yes, this is a suit that incorporates bermuda shorts. Don’t be afraid. Remember, we are challenging ourselves to try other options this season– even this trend from 2007! When you are working with a classic cut paired with a pop of color on your shirt you are on your way to having a successful wardrobe moment!
An oversized suit with a fabric that is as cool and breezy as the color itself! The muted blue shade is dressed in thin white pinstripes to elevate the look. Though the fabric allows for breathing room on a sunny day, you can increase the chances of coolness by layering a white cotton t-shirt underneath. Layering isn’t just for the fall and winter!
Nothing says summer like a crisp white suit. I love the unique leg opening detail found at the crop of the pant. Did you spot the pops of color placed on the lapel of the suit jacket? It’s an undercover surprise. Of course we find balance with the pop of color thanks to these gorgeous bright red/baby pink Pierre Hardy close toed mules.

The black suit looks wonderful, especially jacket. I love anything that resembles tuxedo and this one looks particularly well crafted. I’m so envious of anyone who can wear pastel suits to work! My profession is very conservative so only black or navy suits are acceptable. A colleague didn’t recognise me in hallway once because I wore a light beige linen suits (in the summer). She said it didn’t even cross her mind that I could wear beige to work! :))))

The right fabric is everything. A heavier silk or linen will drape well, feel cool, and look polished– there are some great vintage finds if you keep your eyes open. That lavender suit is fantastic!
lovely editorial and styling!!
O H, this is so fabulous! I love the blazer so much and the color is perfect for this summer. I must buy it or at least I try it!
