Make Yourself A Home
7 years ago by
Decorating a home is a process that’s as challenging as it is exciting and pleasurable. It’s something we’ve been experiencing in small doses since moving into the new Atelier space, and something Garance has been working on since she moved into her new house, too. Personally, I’m four months deep in a couch hunt which is just shameful, I know!
With a million different ways to approach home decor, we wanted to focus on one, so we turned to the always elegant and stylish Jenni Kayne.
Jenni recently launched a home goods line under her eponymous brand, so it felt like a great time to have her round up some of her favorite items for the home, and take a look at her furnishing philosophy. I’ll let Jenni take it from here, like I said, I don’t even have a couch!
Cutting board, Edward Wohl ; Burlap Napkins, Creative Women ; Double Bowl, Julie Cloutier ; Linen Napkin, Matteo ; Copper Cutlery Set, Canvas
Spice Jar, Sheldon Ceramics ; Leather Coasters, Jenni Kayne ; Ceramic Pitchers, Sheldon Ceramics
Special thanks to the lovely teams at Jenni Kayne, General Store, MARCH, Nickey Kehoe et MATTEOfor sharing their beautiful collection of homeware with us.
Decorating your own home doesn’t need to happen over night . A good tip on the sofa, approach upholstery shops , many have access to frames , some even old hardwood sofa frames! Once you’ve decided on the shape the rest is easy !

J’aime l’idee “d’emmailloter” les couverts dans une belle serviette en lin.
I love the copper and earthy tones!
I also moved into my new home, still new to me even though its been a little over a year, and still have boxes that need unpacking :/ , but I have been taking my time letting each room come into its own, one by one, which has helped it feel more at home overall and it has taken off the pressure to decorate and buy things all at once. I can then decorate as I discover things and with more meaning.
Best of luck and thank you for introducing Jenni Kayne.
Even though I don’t pratice it anymore, in fact I’m an Interior Designer! For me, home is something that we built through time… and with a lot of mental work too! Because you’re creating a place that represents you but also responds to your needs! It’s an up and down process, but when it’s done, you can enter in a slow living process.
I love the pieces that Jenni created! They are so simple, raw and natural that they would totally fit in my vision of my ideal home! She’s inspiring!
Kisses for you all*
