Mastering the essentials is probably the key to French style, if I had to choose just one. Anne-Laure does this so well I was particularly excited to meet her and take her picture on our last trip to Paris. She has a way of making very wearable clothes look feminine and chic, of accessorizing just enough to make an outfit special. The three looks she wore for our little rendez-vous are case in point and I may just be inspired to cut my hair and get some fun sunglasses.
Describe your style in three words.
Feminine, vintage, comfortable.
What is your ideal outfit to wear everyday, your uniform?
My everyday basic is a pair of vintage Levi’s 50, I have them in different shades to mix it up. I usually wear them with a navy jumper or something lighter from Fine Paris or Uniqlo. If I have to walk I’ll wear loafers, and if not, high heel boots. Add a small bag and you have my everyday uniform!
Any tips for simplifying your wardrobe without forfeiting style?
I love to play with accessories, they make your style more interesting. So if you want to simplify your wardrobe, have about 15 key pieces (navy jumper, good jeans, a blazer, a breton top, and silk blouse…) and then go crazy with shoes, bags, belts, and jewelry.
How did growing up in Biarritz, and now living in Paris, influence your personal style?
My countryside fashion background is still really present in my style. Biarritz is usually called the French California, with a big surf culture and a cool way of life. In this way, I can say that my style is a mix of this comfy style and the feminism of the Parisian girls.
Look 1: White dress, Leon & Harper ; Loafers, Gucci ; Sunglasses, Vintage / Look 2: Shoes, Valentino ; Bag, Vintage Chanel ; Pants, Leon & Harper ; Jumper, Rouje / Look 3: Jeans, Re/Done ; Blazer, Massimo Dutti ; Top, Massimo Dutti ; Bag, Little Liffner ; Belt, Vintage ; Boots, Zara
She really knows how to wear jeans!
I also love the wicker basket trend, although, there are often some twigs sticking out and I’m afraid they will ruin my clothes! Am I the only one with this problem? :)

She is my absolute favorite of all the insta girls, bloggers, influencers. Always sport on, makes it look so easy, and alive, you know. I have written a lot about the French capsule wardrobe and she is always the inspiration, thanks for the cool shots, j’adore!
