The Trend: Belted Coats
How I would wear it: My love of coats is no secret to you all! This idea of tying them with a tiny belt or string or ribbon (or whatever you can find?! ) is a fun way to play with proportions and keep your coat closed!
Best Looks: From left to right, Reed Krakoff, Altuzarra, Max Mara, Edun, Paul Smith
Great trend, love it! !!

Love this! I wear belts with my coats for years. Kisses
Same same!
And because I invariably lose the coats’ original belts, I end up looping my normal belts through the various jackets.
I loved it!
I’m posting looks from Los Angeles and accessories:

A belted coat, especially given the mesnwear craze, is the perfect accent to give a woman shape and form.

Garance,
How do you make a collage like this? What app/editing do you use? Thanks!

Love — but 2 questions?
Are these coats particularly lightweight or cashmere? Belting most wool coats wouldn’t end up with
such soft drape…
I really like the furry look of the Edun coat (scaled down for real people?)
2nd question — WHO is making great belts? So hard to find.
Please post regarding belts!
I love the idea of adding a small unmatched belt, but as soon as I put one on I take it back off. Unless it had loops I would lose the belt or ribbon if I went anywhere and had to divest myself of my coat.
That said, my lighter winter coat has a matching belt that just ties in the front and I love it.
So glad to see this. It seems like the opposite of that ridiculous drape the coat over your shoulders trend. The coat will actually stay on and keep you warm this way! Yay!
I love the oversized collars and cinched in waists, makes a boxy, masculine silhouette that little bit more womanly.
