Aquaphor, Retin-a (or some kind of strong glycolic acid product), Vichy sunscreen sticks, rose water, baking soda and/or toothpaste
I had some kind of allergic reaction to sun lotion and my eyelid swelled up and was terribly itchy. After a week, I gave in and went to the doctor, who prescribed steriods. And who said I had allergic reactions all over my face–they just didn’t itch. She told me to throw away everything and go buy either Clinique or Avène. I went to Sephora to price Clinique, which I had used before and loved, but then let it go in favor of cheaper (and I guess allergenic) alternatives. It was a little pricey (€32 for mascara? When I could buy perfectly good mascara that might or might not make my eyes puff up all red for $4?). Then I went to the magical wonderland of the French parapharmacie, where I found Avène products for a fraction of the price. I bought one of everything and have been clear-eyed and clear-faced ever since. CONVERT!
I went on vacation in August and totally destroyed my skin from putting on heavy sunscreen every day – it was all bumpy and broken out. A couple of days just keeping my skin really clean with a rose water toner, and using my simple L’Oreal Futur-e moisturizer (I swear by this stuff) cleared it right up though! I was so relieved ????
Josie Maran Organic Argan Oil!
I’m the dork who travels with all of my regimen, albeit decanted into smaller containers (this from travelling quite frequently and already worrying about what strange water — yes, water! — will do to me): prescription sulfur sulfacetamide facewash for mornings, FAB glycolic acid pads, Andalou Naturals Fruit Stem Cell serum, CereVe a.m. SPF 30 daytime lotion, Clinique Take the Day Off cleansing balm, Pixi Skin Treats GlowMud cleanser for my second cleanse (and I also use it as my « sunday » mask), [insert another FAB glycolic acid pad and another two pumps of the Andalou serum here], and Eucerin Hyaluron Night Cream to seal it all in. It’s worth it! I hate breaking out when I’m on the go.

Definitely Drink Up Intensive face mask with avocado by Origins. This stuff is amazing and it’s the only thing that really helps with my dry skin (especially when it’s been neglected).

For travel i like to simplify: Dr. Bronner’s liquid soap to wash face, hair, body and teeth, moisturiser with spf 30 and Kerastase leave-in hair conditioner. Sometimes i throw in a lip balm if feeling fancy. Before i go i get eyelash and brows tinted and mani-pedi…
