You might remember Emily’s gorgeous face from her Edit a few weeks back. Well, we brought her back for a fun beauty minute because we had to know more about this edible glitter eyeshadow!
What is your morning beauty routine?
Most mornings I wake up and immediately put water & hyaluronic acid on my face. Then, I make a coffee and set it on the sink while I do an ever-changing parade of TikTok-suggested beauty fixes: cold rollers, gua sha, tongue scrapers, Dieux eye masks, and more.
I pick one or two to do each day and then apply this ginseng toner I love from Erborian, followed by Farmacy Honey Halo moisturizer which I’ll admit I’m stealing from my sister’s side of the medicine cabinet. I ALWAYS ALWAYS put on SPF — I switch between Elta MD, Vacation, and sometimes I just use ILIA tinted spf serum and call it a day.
When it comes to makeup I’ve been low-key on that front lately but always feel dressed once I put on Talika mascara — which I found from Charlotte Palermino.
Every day is starting to blend into the next so sometimes I like to create some wildcard moments with my makeup. I’m obsessed with RMS Beauty Peach Luminizer cream as a shiny, glossy eyeshadow look. Along those lines, I’ve also started using our OffLimits Cereal Glitter as eyeshadow. It’s edible, vegan, and just so shiny I couldn’t resist trying it out as makeup. 10/10 will do again for a boost of serotonin.
What products do you use throughout the day and why?
I keep my daytime skincare routine at my desk so there are no excuses. I reapply SPF and Laneige lip mask throughout the day, plus the Aavrani serum which feels like a luxe break. A spray of DS & Durga Bowmakers and I’m ready for more meetings and cereal talk.
What is your evening beauty routine?
It’s winter in NY right now—my face knows it and so does my mental health. The priority in my routine is to be kind to myself so simply removing my make-up before bed is a win. I use La Roche Posay micellar water and moisturize with something ultra-hydrating and calming like Prima restorative cream.
I also shower, dry brush, and apply coconut oil to pretend like it’s summer. I’ve been very into the Act + Acre restorative hair mask and once a week I’ll apply a mix of Castor Oil and Asna Oil to my scalp. I love Honeydew Biotin Conditioner, my acupuncturist recommended it and I’ll do pretty much anything she tells me to.
What is your definition of beauty?
…it’s in the eyes of the beholder.
When do you feel most beautiful?
I feel most beautiful when I’m talking about or creating something I’m passionate about.
