A Time for Change
8 years ago by
I used to HATE lotion – dread the moment my mother would slather it on me out of the bath.
I would make her do it because I detested the feel so much. But as I aged, so did my skin, and so did my tolerance for staying moisturized. My hands in particular. They’re one of the first places where you really see age and the number one area, for me, that I am constantly lathering whatever lotion, potion or oil I can get my hands on… literally.
Of all the ingredients moisturizers are based from today, hemp was the last thing I expected to see in one. But not only do I like the Rasta-esque packaging from CHANGE, I like the heavy duty hand protector itself – the balance of essential fatty acids in hemp seed oil work with our skin’s own oils to provide serious hydration. My hands feel as soft as a baby and smell as earthy as a free-spirited hippie.
So for now, my solution is hemp! Have you found any mighty hydrating lotions for your hands?
I’m currently using Crème Mains et Ongles Rêve de Miel by Nuxe!

I felt the same way about lotion — but I’m gonna try this

My favourite hand cream is by Aveeno’s eczema line. Literally heavenly. I’m trying to find a bigger bottle so I can use it on my body from that line.

I so love the packaging!

L’Occitane hand creme (my fav is the queen of roses scent) is wonderful for my hands. I work outdoors a lot and this smooths soothes and settles. Also Crabtree and Evelyn gardeners hand wash…. Not only for gardeners… The micro pumice acts like an exfoliant and the beautiful macadamia oil make your hands feel young and fresh.
Body Shop’s hemp hand cream really is good. I also like L’occitane’s hand cream.
I also use different Estonian hand creams (Puhas Loodus, Orto) but they are probably not available everywhere in the world. :)

This looks really good and similar to the L’Occitane one I use, I’ll have to give it a try x

I still don’t use lotions because I just hate being sticky!

I am obsessed with the hand lotions- they need to mousturize very well without leaving my hands sticky or greasy. The word I am looking for is “silky”. My two favourite ones are Ekos (a brazilian brand whom I was introduced through a Brazilian friend who knows my “obsession” with the hand creams) – the other other brand is Rituals (OMG- I love love love love it).
My fave is Weleda’s pomegranate hand creme. It has the perfect texture- rich but not greasy or sticky, and it smells like sangria!
My favorite is the one from Caudalie. I just buy that one over and over again, the smell is amazing!
I can’t live without my big silver tube of L’Occitane Hand Crème with 20% Shea Butter. SOOO good! xo, liv
