Sotheby’s “In Bloom”
5 years ago by
Even in the concrete greyness of New York City, we are starting to see the magical eruption of colors and smells out of the flowerbeds. As cheesy as it sounds, spring has sprung! Not only have flowers begun to adorn the sidewalks, but also… at Sotheby’s?! Sotheby’s has recently opened a selling exhibition called “In Bloom,” showcasing 75 floral jewelry designs from an array of distinguished jewelry houses. Curated by Carol Woolton and Frank Everett, “In Bloom” celebrates “the history and evolution of floral jewels from the 19th century to the present day”. With designs ranging from classic to contemporary, the exhibition proves that floral jewelry never goes out of style.
All of the pieces in the exhibition are available for private sale. Although you may not want to spend $3 million on a gorgeous Fancy Colored Diamond ‘Amarante’ Bracelet by Neha Dan, Sotheby’s allows anyone to walk in and try on any piece they desire! How fun is that?! So, even if the pieces can’t go home with you, you can have a fun moment channeling your inner jeweled floral goddess at your visit to “In Bloom”.
