The secret ingredient in those smudged plum eyes backstage we spotted at Rachel Comey?
Lipstick.
As crazy as it sounds, this wasn’t the first time I had heard about using your lipstick to add some color to the eyes (Valentina from Grey Magazine told me it’s one of her beauty tricks!).
Have you tried it? Thought about it? Like it?
PS: The lipstick used here, Train Bleu, will be out for summer 2014 from NARS!

I love this trick! I do it with a couple bronze-y and gold lipsticks that don’t quite work for me as a lip color.
Oooh, I’m definitely going to try this with some of my gold/bronze lipsticks in the back of the drawer!

Yes, I have tried this and I love it. The only problem is that the lipstick creases quite fast. Would love to hear some tips to solve this problem.

The ingredients and colors approved for lipsticks may not also be approved for use around the eyes, so ladies, please be careful. Also be sure to thoroughly disinfect your lipstick before you use it around your eyes, to avoid the possibility of a infections. It might be better to try some of the pigments offered by MAC or Makeup Forever that are more “lipstick” shaded.

Je ne connaissais pas du tout l’astuce. Je pense que ça doit être très pratique à l’application, et que cela doit avoir une bonne tenue.
Jusqu’à présent le lipstick, je l’utilisais aussi parfois en “blush” d’appoint lorsque j’oubliais mon fard à joues !

Alerte, alerte, c’est une très mauvaise idée ! Je l’ai fait une fois où il me fallait du fard rouge pour un déguisement et j’ai eu les yeux bouffis pendanr 48h après … j’imagine que ça dépend des formules mais les yeux sont si sensible qu’il vaut mieux leur laisser les produits adéquats, non ?

Oui, déjà testé ! du rouge un peu foncé, et du gloss aussi. Le rouge à lèvre, c’est vraiment un outil. Il me sert de blush aussi…ça tient mieux et ça fait plus naturel ;-) . Parfait en retouche pendant la journée !
Très joli en tout cas ce bordeaux…mais à mon avis, mieux vaut ne pas avoir de cernes…!

Do it all the time! I have some lipsticks that I only use on my eyes, some I use on eyes and cheeks, but only one that works on eyes, cheeks and lips.
