Sculptural Jewelry

Even though I tend to keep it minimal, I can’t help but love sculptural jewelry.
This new line from Sophie Buhai has me wondering whether the smaller pieces in my jewelry box will be making space for bigger, statement bangles and drop earrings. There’s this ethereal feel despite the size of the pieces, which is maybe why I find them so appealing… A perfect way to accessorize a simple cotton dress in spring or a kaftan in the summer.
I love how you could wear just one of her pieces and it would instantly draw attention, or you could layer up wrists or hands with multiples for a more decadent look.
Do you go for bold jewelry? How do you style it?

I’m of the “more is more” school of jewelry in that I like large, sculptural, show-stopping pieces as opposed to more dainty things. I absolutely love the silver choker in the first photo. It’s gorgeous.
i love the look of it but I can’t stand heavy things on my wrists or earlobes. lately i can’t even stand heavy necklaces – I get home from work and feel so much better and lighter after I’ve taken it all off. her work is beautiful though!

Ces bijoux sont absolument splendides, ils me font penser aux bijoux portés par les femmes ultra chics en été, à la Inès de la Fressange. J’adore leur forme un peu architecturale et non minimaliste, ça change !

Je suis plutot minimaliste aussi mais ces bijoux sont spectaculaires. Un bijou sculptural peut en effet donner de l’allure a une tenue simple. Ceux de la photo me font penser a la magnifique Loulou de la Falaise.

Exactement comme toi, plutôt branchée minimalisme et très rares bijoux … 80% de boucles d’oreilles et de bagues en fait. L’été dernier j’ai craqué pour un gros bracelet en bois sculpté blanc, ce qui me changeait vraiment. Mieux vaut avoir le bras totalement dégagé pour porter ça, avec une robe fine à bretelles c’est très bien :)

I would like to see something different in jewelry design, a new proposal. Don´t get me wrong, this pieces are beautiful, but it is nothing I haven´t seen before, just pricey and with the Garance´s approval.. I have seen the same pieces for a lot less in my country( 3USD.or less for the small earings). Please, if you are going to design jewelry….innovate! I am a big fan of Garances´posts…to the designer: you can do better.
