NYC On Tape
9 years ago by
Have you heard of the website watchnyc.tv?
It just launched, a cool site that we came across over the weekend…
It’s a platform for young filmmakers in New York to share their videos — a way to create an online community, and to share the infinite number of stories about – or set in – this city. The whole idea came from Alex Serio and Kareem Ahmed, young New Yorkers who really wanted to find a way to make video content more democratic online – and to create a space specifically for young New York directors.
The best part is that anyone in New York can submit their video to be showcased on the site! Even if you’ve never had a screening or had a film make it into a festival, or had something go viral on YouTube…
But, making it a “New York” thing ensures some kind of filter through all of the information out there. So, it’s really just a cool site if you happen to love making films in or about New York, or if you just feel like scrolling through to watch what others out there are producing…
that’s so cool

You should check out the amazing videos on croptheblock.com ! it’s a collaborative video platform too, and I find amazing how each video captures the vibe of a specific neighborhood… it started from Paris (of course), and now they have videos from Berlin, Sao Paulo, Berlin…. I’m obsessed!! xx
C’est super ! It made my day :)
