Ahhh, my Phillip Lim coat !
So many of you asked me about it after the last Pardon My French and I get it – I love it too !
I never thought I could get away with wearing a pink coat, but I thought it would be a good way to de-gloomify my face (what more can you ask for on a day of shooting… )(Ok actually everyday?). Also the fabric is surprising enough that the pink doesn’t get too literal.

Twinsies! Je partage totalement ton sentiment : ma garde-robe est un chaleureux camaïeu du blanc au noir, relevé par des touches de denim brut – ça punche À MORT. Et quand j’ai vu ce manteau sur le runway, j’ai dégainé ma carte de crédit, et Moda Operandi.
Il me donne l’air moins grisâtre, et fin octobre, c’est vraiment nécessaire. Oh, et il m’a fallu à peu près 10 minutes pour retirer le plastron en cuir la première fois. Gros moment de solitude.

Pink seems to be the new black, and the beautiful dusky shades make it not-so-PINK, if that makes sense, especially with the beautifully clean lines and textures on your Phillip Lim…

It’s not just the colour..it’s the textured material..like a stylised wet suit but gorgeous and the subtle, simple black edging..lush xxx

Ah oui, il est sublime ton manteau ! J’ai opté pour du rose aussi (et dès l’année dernière ;)), un petit manteau 60’s en drap de laine trouvé sur un marché : il est fait main, c’est hyper touchant de voir comment il est monté, et le tissu est arrêté aux ciseaux crantés. J’image la couturière qui l’a cousu quand je le porte :)

ben tiens, ça tombe bien que tu nous en parles: justement, je m’interrogeais depuis les photos de la sortie du défilé Kenzo, et je me disais “mais qu’est-elle aller chercher ce manteau… si mémère? elle qui d’habitude a tjs des manteaux sublimes?” ben ouais, et hier, j’ai reçu le catalogue de la Blancheporte, avec offerte une parka matelassée qui ressemble à s’y méprendre à l’effet produit par ce matelassé rose… Bref, ça n’a rien arrangé à mon imaginaire, et mon impression négative, et je me suis dit “ben mince, on dirait le manteau de Garance”…
Oui, sur ce coup-là, je n’ai pas compris du tout ton choix. Je préfère de loin tes autres manteaux, y a pas photo…

J’ai envie de rose maintenant ! Un petit pull a porter avec presque tout car finalement, le vieux rose ou rose poudre est assez neutre et remplacerait, pour un moment mes autres “neutrals.”

It’s the textured fabric that makes it – I think with the pink coat trend it’s important to buy a coat that has some sort of detail or interest. Plain pink could die a death soon. Gawd, I’ve been through so many pink coats in the last 6 weeks…
