I Can’t Stand The Rays…
8 years ago by
It’s not just the sun’s rays that we should be worried about.
Hold up, don’t freak out!! Let me explain…
Recently, I’ve been doing a lot of reading on the seriously negative effects of screens on your skin, how being around a computer all day can seriously accelerate its aging – oh, and cause inflammation and actually change the way your skin was categorized genetically. There are even studies claiming that HEV (high energy visible) light is more harmful than UV to skin.
Ok, so I’m not trying to overcomplicate things or confuse anyone (especially myself!) with an acronym…
Basically, it’s worth thinking about how you can protect your skin from something you might not have thought was impacting it so much! And that also means skincare companies are cottoning on to the dangers too, and there are some new products that are helping to defy these rays.
Like a new primer from MAKE that I’ve been trying out for a little while now. It shields against HEV and infrared light, plus it does all of the great stuff a good primer has always done.
(Create a great layer to protect skin from makeup and also help your makeup base last a little longer.)
Ok, so it’s a little difficult to see any immediate effects as it’s a protectant, but that’s a little like sunscreen. And I have to say, I really think, after years of wearing SPF every day, that has made an amazing difference to how aged my skin is…
What do you think? Do you think all of these rays are causing our skin as much damage as everyone is starting to say, or are they even worse than we think?
Moonlight Primer, MAKE Beauty.
I really haven’t done any research on this myself, but reading this kind of makes me feel ill as I have spend the past 10 years wearing sunscreen religiously (and like to think it’s really helped!). BUT, if I’m also getting damage from my computer, I’m just lost as to what to think about it all!
I really want to try this

Wow, I haven’t heard of HEV before. The primer sounds interesting.
Very scary. I love the idea of this primer. Great information.
I don’t know if I should be terrifid or glad because of this post :) well, either way, thank you for recommending this primer!
So classic and nice
It is so important to protect the skin – SPF is definitely a every-day-must!
