Conscious Consumption
7 years ago by
The fast fashion era is approaching its end. It seems that more and more consumers are taking strides to make thoughtful, educated decisions around their shopping habits. Personally, I’m fully on board with this movement, and find myself gravitating less towards name and faceless brands, rather ones that are personal, meaningful, and conscious.
Below are three ethical fashion brands who check all of these boxes that I’m currently loving!
Live Fashionable @livefashionable
Jewelry and accessories made locally and globally by women who have overcome extraordinary circumstances like prostitution, homelessness, addiction and overall lack of opportunity.
Indego Africa @indego_africa
Clothing, jewelry, accessories, and home accents handmade in Africa by native artisan women, using traditional techniques.
Ways of Change @waysofchange
Jewelry and accessories handmade by women and men in Thailand, using the skills of the Kayan craftsman.
This is great! I hope the movement towards purchases like this continues.

I don’t agree that fast fashion is over. However, anything that is more socially conscious is a good start.
