The New Work
4 years ago by
When I was still a wee college student I had no idea what I was going to do, who I was going to be, or where I was going to live upon graduation BUT I made one singular promise to myself when it came to my career.
I absolutely refused to have two separate wardrobes, a work wardrobe and a weekend wardrobe. It seemed ridiculous to me. It also pushed me in a creative direction as opposed to doctor / lawyer / accountant (probably much to family’s annoyance).
Well, Christina and Bogdana have shown us here, even if the office life is your life, you can choose pieces that are both classic and versatile enough to simply be in your core wardrobe, banishing the work wardrobe for good.
Sweater, Gucci; Pants, Bottega Veneta; Shoes, Proenza Schouler
Shirt, A.P.C.; Shorts, 3.1 Phillip Lim; Socks, Gucci; Shoes, Nicole Saldana
Dress, Bottega Veneta; Socks, Gucci
Suit, Bottega Veneta; Shirt, Sies Marjan; Shoes, By Far
Blazer, Proenza Schouler; Shirt, Commission
Sweater, Alexander Wang; Shorts, Rosetta Getty; Socks, Comme Si; Shoes, Bass
Maybe the first one could be worn to the office with the addition of a bra. None of the others.

I love the grey Gucci sweater at the bottom of this article but couldn’t find it on the link provided (net-a-porter); maybe it’s simply not available quite yet? Could you send me a little more description of it so I can eventually find it on the Gucci site or in a Gucci boutique or on net-a-porter? I really want to buy it when it becomes available, but “grey sweater” doesn’t seem to be enough of a description :-)
Thank you for this, and for your blog which I never miss and always love!
Hi Maria! The one is actually Alexander Wang. Here is a link to a different color on their site. https://www.alexanderwang.com/us-en/DRAPED-NECK-PULLOVER+192722119747.html
