Skirt the Issue

I don’t even want to think about how short my skirts were in my twenties. They were more loin cloth than skirt (Sorry mom!) and every time I crossed my legs, my uterus was basically exposed to whoever was sitting in front of me (Sorry strangers on the train! Sorry random people in bars! Sorry to everyone, everywhere! Mea culpa!).
Then, a few years ago I finally realized how uncomfortable short skirts made me — not just from the intermittent flashing, but all the damn tugging! They never stayed in place on my hips. I finally gave up, gifted them all to my little sister (who is smack in the middle of her twenties) and proudly adopted the midi as a (gasp) thirty year old.
What do you think? Are minis just the gateway skirt to a midi? Or can you rock both simultaneously? Which do you prefer?
Lovely – leaving a little to the imagination can be very sexy indeed.
I’m only 5’2 so I’ve always thought that midi skirt would swamp me. But last years I bought a dress from Toteme and it turned out to be midi (although on a model was more like knee length). And I love it! I think it’s the chicest length!

Midi’s are so much more elegant and attractive than mini’s. Mini’s make it look like you are trying too hard.
J’ai 20 ans, j’adore mes mini-jupes !
Mais c’est vrai que les robes midi en été peuvent être très belles.
midi all the way – much more elegant
I feel the same as Ana (in the comments before)! Years ago I always felt like those skirts wouldn’t look good on me! Until I tried one out and… I love them on me! Honestly I don’t have a skirt like those still, but I started to buy dresses that hit that part of my leg! :)

I used to like mini skirts and I do not mind a high waisted mini – they do not move around like low waisted minis (especially the way denim minis end up backward by the end of the day). I am only 5’1 so even skirts that are super short don’t end up being SO short on me. I like mini, midi and maxi skirts. Knee length can be done but usually hits me quite oddly. I like 4 inches below the knee or 4 inches above it, or all the way down to the ankle.
Just a liiitle bit above the knee. You can never go wrong with that.
Comme Rouille !
Dévoiler plus en hiver… longue jambe et stature droite. Et plus sobre en été pour pouvoir profiter à l’ombre des cocotiers ou des pins assise, couchée :)
Belle soirée !

Nice Blog written & also Superb collection to shop.
For me minis are our or devoted only to the winter season (on some occassions) with knee boots! They never stay on my hips and are just very uncomfortable!! I guess aging also means becoming very comfort-wise. I mean litterally I’ve given up short skirts, high heels (which now I wear only for parties and nite-outs), jeans that are too tight and anything that could confine my movements!
Let there be comfort, I declare! haha

Midi and maxi, all the way! For me, those skirts are the girly version of ankle-grazing flares and cropped boyfriend jeans.

Knee length or midis. More fun to swirl around
