The Flower Market, Part 1

At the end of Milan Fashion Week, Marni hosted a one day pop-up flower market at Rotonda della Besana in honor of their 20th anniversary.
It was such a beautiful scene and atmosphere – I’m so excited to be able to share these photos with you. It’s pretty interesting when a different way of sharing a brand’s aesthetic is created. Even more at a moment when there is more and more fashion shows every fashion week – it gets so difficult for designers to stand out.
The Marni world is special. Italian, complex, intellectual, fun and beautifuly colorful at the same time – A flower market was the perfect way to celebrate the spirit of the brand.
The event was full of life – people were shopping for gorgeous flowers that were then wrapped up in special Marni printed paper, enjoying food, drinks and soaking up the beauty of their surroundings. The whole event was really magical and of course, anything that brings together lifestyle and fashion holds a special place for me…
There is so much to share that today we’re going to do a “Marni Special” so come back later for more!!!

Love love love ! C’est vraiment une très belle idée. Et puis l’univers Marni, tous ces imprimés…. Maintenant je ne rêve que des ces sacs cabas aux imprimés floraux, parfait pour apporter une touche de gaieté à l’automne/hiver !!!

Hello Garance, merci pour tes posts et ta spontanéité… il manque les city guide dans ta nouvelle présentation et c’est dommage que tu ne donnes plus trop d’adresses comme avant car les villes bougent beaucoup et les hotspot aussi ;)

Ho oui c’est beaucoup plus agréable que de les faire défiler. J’ai jamais été fan d’ailleurs du défilement. Et la avec toutes ces couleurs c’est vraiment réussi!

What a beautiful idea. Also, I love the layout. I’ve been having issues with the ‘Click on the Arrow for more images’ layout in your blog since the last changes were made; I’m on a Windows Surface tablet, not sure whether this is a brand specific issue?

Having the photos full-width really helps me see them better, & I love the vertical scroll instead of the gallery with arrows because sometimes it was hard to see them to click through. Your level of inspiration is through the roof!

I enjoyed all the Instagram pictures from the day, but I now see that the flowers and the setting were even more magical in real life!!! Also, the new layout is gorgeous and adds so much to how we read the story – love it!!!

Marni was my favorite show so far this season! And the flower market looks lovely, it would be so nice to be in these surroundings.
As for the new layout I think is really great. It feels so natural that I only realized it’s new when you pointed it out on the end of the post. It really captures the felling of flipping through a magazine. So, congratulations!

Love the new lay-out! I’ve noticed that Sandra Semburg has been credited quite a few times already. Does this mean that you’ve stopped taking photos yourself? Is Sandra a new member to the team, or is she freelancing for you? I’m just curious :)

I love the photos, but the new navigation … sure it is innovative and probably took hard work, but, it feels cluttered, or somehow obtrusive, really un-Garance-like to me. I don’t want navigation to distract me from the beautiful images, or to seem to distort them, as I scroll though them.
It seems more a mechanical issue. Clunky…..
