Marie Marot
9 years ago by
Marie Marot is the sort of tough French woman that I like to think I am the American equivalent to. Okay, or aspire to be. While we were in Paris, Garance told me I had to go meet her – and what G says, I do.
Marie is suuuuper cool. She started her own line of beanies and leather pouches that are sold in the likes of Colette, and is launching the most perfect shirts for next Spring. Three styles that come in simple shapes and classic colors (white, blue, mini pin stripe) . Needless to say, I’m looking forward to seeing what she comes up with next.
Love her style!

Love the collar on the shirts, but why oh why the mullet style at the bottom?? So tired of this look on shirts and dresses.
Brie, Garance,
Whatever it is, I just simply feel esprit de corps lately. You ladies rock. Garance, you look amazing in those Zara ads and between us girls…while Parisian girls may be suuuuuper cool in Paris, Parisian girls are even more suuuuuuuuper cool when they are in NY – because – you are in NY. Wishing you all the best in your endeavors.
Hi VZ! I totally agree – we have one of the best Parisian transplants right in our studio ;)
Agree alexandra! Neva, neva liked the hair-DOOO…..feel the same about the dresses and shirts. Not original, not flattering, beeeeen done to death. So over.
Although. i must admit…..i loveeed Amal Clooney in that Oscar de la Renta floral embroidered white fabulous hi-lo dress that she wore, i think, to the ‘gals’ party’ the night before “THE” wedding”! God knows her endless, perfect legs hit the hight mark, but that was Oscar,..so it was perfect, looked ‘new’, gorgeous! This designer may be a neat force, but.these shirts look very…tired,… done, even though i’m, sure the fabric and craftsmanship are perfect. Other than the Oscar/Amal dress…never seen a mullet I liked, or more importantly, thought was flattering. The cut does not flatter a larger derier…just emphasizes it.
Very manly style, not everyone can pull of!

Hello :)
I love your blog …but lately I feel you are talking a lot about the french girl, I mean yes, they are amazing, but lets pleeeease explore other icons , other nationalities, other styles, other aromas ….
Abrazos :)
Spot on! My sentiments exactly, thanks for putting them into words, Ana. I feel like in a week’s time there’s a post or two about being French. We all admire French women and their sense of style but I certainly would like to see other nationalities and other styles. I don’t want my personal style to be a complete copycat of the French’s.
J’adore sa collection, elle fait très tough girl from Paris en effet !
