Cette dame à un sourire magnifique et communicatif ! Et son kimono … sublime …
Quelle chance extraordinaire de pouvoir avoir des cours de calligraphie japonaise !!
The prints of her kimono are absolutely wonderful. So inspiring. We’ll definitely make sure we get vintage kimonos on our next buying trip to Tokyo for our store.
Amazing idea to dive into the Japanese culture! Especially for such a talented illustrator, calligraphy is just the next step no?
I wish people would wear more unique and colourful uniform like that. I bet she doesn’t realize how beautiful her kimono is… Our workers in London are also very trendy, they wear neon yellow!
1. I want a Kimono
2. “Kimono, kimono, kimono. Ha! Of course! Kimono is come from the Greek word himona, is mean winter. So, what do you wear in the wintertime to stay warm? A robe. You see: robe, kimono. There you go! ” — My big fat Greek Wedding
3. I couldn’t help but think of the discipline behind Japanese calligraphy, I saw an episode with Anthony Bourdain and it looked like pretty serious stuff!
oeff, i am LOVING your reports from tokyo! I hope you realise how fortunate you are to be experiencing all this :) enjoy the rest of your trip and I’m looking forward to more!
I was surprised to see that everyone in Japan has a special skill related to traditional arts like calligraphy. There is this really interesting museum in Ginza dedicated to calligrapher Mitsuo Aida that I’d love to visit again.

I love how her joy matches the sumptuousness and comfort of her layers of kimono. I’m in love with kimonos of all kinds, and just launched a line of silk kimono from here in Istanbul. Merci, Garance, for the post..
Years before I ever realized that I would actually end up working for her, Garance was my introduction to a certain kind of fashion. At the time, she...
Until recently, I was a hard-core bronzer fanatic, it was my hero product in my beauty routine since high school. I tried every version under the sun...
Ahhhh the bun!! As you know, in my past hair life I was totally a top knot girl. But there is something about the low chignon that I also really love....
