I’ve been thinking a lot about the anklet and all its forms lately.
First, there’s the tiny friendship anklet, braided and maybe with some beads. It has a real summer camp memento feel…but maybe I’m too old for this?
Then there’s the gold chain, subtle and not too cumbersome. This is one I think I could do.
And then there is the bold choice, like this tribal inspired jewelry we spotted on the street. It’s definitely a statement but worn on both ankles it almost feels natural.
I’m not sure I’ll be ready for such heavy duty jewelry this summer, although they would be the most fashionable ankle weights. I’m thinking about trying a delicate gold anklet to spice up my foot game.

Mon dieu, 500$ pour des sandales, moi aussi je me disais qu’elles étaient magnifiques, mais à ce prix-là, j’espère qu’elles sont garanties à vie!
C’est vrai que les sandales sont parfaites, mais je suis un peu mal à l’aise avec ces bracelets… ça me fait penser à des bracelets d’esclaves ou de bagnards… je passe mon tour sur les bracelets de chevilles, par contre j’adore les sandales!!
Les sandales sont canons ; en revanche les bracelets sur les deux chevilles font plutôt penser à certaines heures sombres de l histoire.

Tee hee. The photo made me laugh, and I’m glad you are going to go a little lighter than the ankle bracelets pictured. Because, honestly? They remind me of something the department of correction would use to make sure you aren’t a flight risk.
That said, I love sandals — and someone has a lovely pair of feet as well.

I’ve been so thinking about an anklet too! A delicate gold chain I think is a great way to go though that photo makes a great case for a chunky version. I keep picturing a gold chain and my feet in the sand for summer. They are pretty easy to make yourself as well which is what I am thinking of doing. Do it! Add a delicate gold toe ring too!

Let me just say, ankles need some serious loving. After all, a pair of killer heels would look ridiculous without them. And what better way to bring attention down below than to decorate daringly. I LOVE the heavy metal one. Any idea where I can score a similar find?

They remind me of shackles. That was my first reaction. Personally I am not a fan.

These look more like shackles than ‘bracelets’ – not attractive at all!
I honestly love anklets, I think they look lovely and have a hippie-ish, beach-y vibe to them… lately I’ve been wearing an Indian style one, black and silver
I wore anklets, mostly different kinds of silver chains, sometimes an “ankle party”, when I was at university in the 90’s. I still have them (they’ve survived an intercontinental migration) so maybe I should dig them out on holiday at least, this summer!
Tiens, j’avais pas pensé au jonc de cheville… déjà que j’ai du mal avec le jonc de poignet, suis comme toi, je vote pour la chaine, ou le rien du tout, tant pis pour la mode. Pourtant c’est juste sublime sur la photo !

First off, those sandals are fabulous and I hope you also have a pair in black. Second, yes I agree about the friendship style anklet being a bit to young. I love these you have in the picture obviously not for everyday (a gold one could be though).
J’aime beaucoup ces bracelets épais, je trouve qu’ils font plus indiens qu’esclaves… indiens sans le bruit des clochettes donc plus facile à porter :-) en revanche je n’aime pas les chaînes cheville en or, je trouve ça vulgaire ;-(

Un bracelet oui, je trouverai cela joli mais 2, je suis d’accord avec les autres commentaires, cela me fait trop penser à des entraves…
D’ordinaire je déteste les bracelets de cheville, mais ceux présentés sur la photo sont juste parfaits ! Bon après, c’est peut-être aussi parce que les chaussures, le bronzage et le vernis sont magnifiques hein (et la photo bien sûr )

Un lien tout simple sur la cheville est aussi joli! Les joncs de la photo sont très beaux mais la connotation est trop forte surtout sur les 2 pieds, un seul aurait mieux “passé”.

Having pieces of metal jangling around my ankles as I walked very annoying. These ones look like they might hurt. Nice sandals, though. And thank goodness for red nail polish. I am tired of all the weird colours.

je suis étonnée de voir le “Kholkhal” traditionnel berbère tunisien réactualisé et si bien porté !!! Chez nous il existe en or et en argent et pèse très lourd …dans son sens anthropiologique et comme chez nous chaque bijoux a une signification , on met aux femmes mariées le kholkhal afin que sa démarche soit plus lourde ,plus appuyée et surtout plus sage

Hmm, I’m afraid these ankle bangles (on those enviously slim ankles and with those fabulous sandals!) are a bit too “Twelve Years a Slave” for my comfort level. Plus how did she get them on? Do they slip on or open and clasp? As far as a slim gold anklet – sounds a bit too 1980’s for me. I think something more organic or “Ibiza summer goddess”– maybe beaded or knotted or silver. I like the idea above of an ankle party! Now I’m definitely too old for this but for a casual summer look, I say go for it!

I love anklets, but my ankles are not slim , and I do not want to draw attention to them, which these heavy anklets would definitely do. I do think the right anklets on lovely slim ankles can look very beautiful.
I like the idea of an anklet for each ankle. These might be a little extreme because they’re heavy. I’d try this with a thicker serpentine chain in rose gold.
J’ai des sandales quasi identiques (sauf pas la mm marques) mais je n’oserai pas les gros bracelets, d’abord parce que je pense que ça me blesserait les chevilles et aussi je ne suis pas sûre que ça m’aille!
Mais la chaine en or toute fine oui je valide :)

Love dainty anklets. I’ve been wearing one since forever. Mine was an impulsive purchase I made while waiting for mum at the mall, costs about a dollar. It’s thin, gold, with a row of faux teeny diamonds on it. I’ve been wearing it since 4 or 5 years ago. :)

Waw ! Ces deux bracelets de cheville sont très beaux avec les sandales, j’adore la combinaison. Certes, j’ai une petite préférence pour la petite chaine en or de cheville mais là je dois avouer que c’est vraiment sympathique la combinaison des deux. ça donne un petit côté bohème à un look que j’adore.
Après c’est sur qu’il faut oser et être à l’aise car ça peut paraître légèrement encombrant mais pour le coup là je suis surprise et j’adore !

I have bought a similar pair of these anklet bracelets, about 11 years ago, and if i am not mistaken , it’s a Yohji Yamamoto design . very uncomfortable but very stylish . which means that i often wear it :)
