Creatures of the Wind

I took this photo at the Creatures of the Wind show (my first show this fashion week!)(Raaaah!!!), that I really liked.
What also hit me was the support that young designers get in New York.
And I’m not just talking about CFDA and Fashion Fund, which help up and coming brands to set up a structure and develop.
I mean, look at the front row. Anna Wintour and the entire team at Vogue is there, Style.com, of course, and lots of others that aren’t in the photo – and this is only the third time that Chris and Shane have presented in New York.
Besides that, I love the little leather cape!

It’s really great that young designers get this support from the main fashion figures. I wish it could be like that in a lot of other cities too. I am not a designer but I can imagine how difficult it is to launch a fashion brand! Good luck to Creatures of the Wind

oui ca serait bien si la presse c était la même chose en France ! D ailleurs tu suis ce que fait l’andam?
Maaaaaahhhhh c’est surtout la jupe qui est à tomber… Et la couleur, dingue! Je ne connaissais pas cette marque en effet, à regarder de plus près, donc.
À propos de ta réflexion sur le soutien apporté aux jeunes marques aux US, penses-tu qu’il y a moins de snobisme là-bas qu’à Paris par exemple ??

En effet, c’est plutôt quelque chose de motivant ( et stressant ) mais au moins on se sent soutenu avec des personnes aussi importantes présentes.

You took the really best photos of the show! I wasn’t very much in to this red background, it seems to aggressive for the clothes but I loved the collection, especially the shoes!

I really like creatures of the wind! I watched pardon your french of their summer collection again and I must say I would wear everything! Particularly liked the shoes! Here the little cape is a fabulous contrast with the old golden skirt.
Dans un dernier post sur mon blog http://thinkincognito.blogspot.it/2013/02/fashion-week-manifesto.html, je déplorais le manque d’attention porté aux jeunes designers et marques durant la FW et là celle de NY arrive et vient me prouver le contraire.
J’entends beaucoup parler de Creatures of the Wind ces derniers temps et j’aime beaucoup ce que ce duo fait. Si j’avais l’occasion (et le portefeuille) je porterais leurs créations sans aucun problème !

La petite cape en cuir, oui, mais la jupe est royale. Elle semble etre en moire de couleur bronze.

Très jolie photo.
Mais ce qui me fait réagir, c’est le fait que tu soulignes – en filigrane – le manque soutien aux jeunes marques et créateurs à Paris… Enfin, que tu mentionnes ce soutien à New York! Car, à Paris, la situation est vraiment désespérante!
Cest un cri du coeur sur lequel j’aurai mille choses à dire…
Je me contenterai, ce soir, d’évoquer le découragement qui me saisit parfois…
