Aaaaaand… It’s the last day of fashion weeeeek!!!
I know, just like me, you can’t just sit there and watch girls walk endlessly into infinity an beyond. You’re tired of hearing the words, “amazing,” “fantastic,” “awesome,” every four seconds. You don’t even want to sip a drop of champagne anymore.
SO! If you have :
Exhausted the 22.5 outfit possibilities that you could squeeze into your suitcase…
Seen Anna Dello Russo walk in front of you with a giant sculpture on her head in the shape of her own initials and thought it completely normal…
Talked to Grace Coddington as if she was your best friend and get super suprised she wouldn’t recognise you.
If you want to :
Go back to your favorite denim jumpsuit and never take it off ever…
Throw away all you pairs of heels, even the Prada ones you’d been dreaming about for ages.
Go to the far reaches of Texas to listen to conferences about internet’s future. Anything but clothes…
If you’ve ended up :
Getting into a fight with a security guard at a show who didn’t understand that if you were seated there, yes, right there, you could get the best pictures of the show. See yourself refused that favor. And then promised to hate that security guard for life…
Getting a piece of gum from him and joking around with each other two hours later…
Only to realize that he’s your sworn enemy two hours before…
And then realize that he probably forgot all about you too…
So if you have, in the end :
Forgot your camera in the Fendi showroom yesterday, but sent your chauffeur to go get it back right away and think that life should always be that easy.
Fell so deeply asleep in a taxi the taxi driver wouldn’t dare wake you up and think that people should always be that patient.
Danced like a maniac at a private Mary J. Blige concert at the American embassy and think that all concerts should be exactly that way.
If so, if sooooooooooo….
THEN IT’S TIME TO COME BACK DOWN TO EARTH, CRAZY GIRL !!!

I absolutely love this post! Although my experience at London Fashion Week didn’t involve chauffeurs or talking to Grace Coddington I definitely had to tell myself that exact same thing at the end… ‘Come back down to earth you crazy girl!’. Because fashion week transports you to a totally surreal world and when you step out of it and back into your normal life the transition is bizarre but sweetly and desperately needed.
Loved reading all your funny experiences! I, for one, can’t wait to see Hermes.

My favorite part is the story of the taxi driver, though. That was sweet of him not to wake you up. Most taxi drivers are either rude, impatient, greedy or a combination of all three so he (or she) is one in a million.

Etudiante que je suis, je bosse dans un agence d’hôtesse pour arrondir mes fins de mois, et Oh! bonheur j’ai eu la chance de bosser sur le défilée Louis Vuitton ce matin!! Premier défilé auquel j’assistais et même déguisé en soubrette ça compte!!
Je vous ai reconnue mais n’ai pas eu le courage (surtout vue ma tenue de soubrette) de venir vous dire a quel point j’adore votre blog, alors voila c’est fait maintenant! Auriez vous une photo de ces ridicules “french maids” que nous étions? Merci

Que d’anecdotes! C’est vrai que la FW est toujours une période irréelle, j’ai toujours du mal à retrouver mon quotidien après. Discuter avec Castelbajac, faire la bise à Maxime Simoens en backstage, échanger deux mots avec Diane Pernet, ou voir Anna Wintour arriver d’un pas assuré et rapide à un défilé, entourée de ses bodyguards.
Quand je retrouve ma petite vie “normale” juste après, toujours quelques jours de déprime. Mais je me console en me disant qu’il y aura bientôt une nouvelle FW (en juin!!) Il me tarde déjà.

Bonnes vacances au Texas ou dans l’Arizona, à compter les vaches ou écouter des conférences sur la tectonique des plaques. Si tu veux, j’ai un ami qui passe six mois de nuit complète (ou de jour complet, je ne sais plus) sur une base scientifique dans l’Antarctique, sans communication avec le monde extérieur. Si ça te dit, i peut te rencarder sur comment faire comme lui.
