Bare Necessities

Putting on your underwear is an integral part of every woman’s day (dare I say women’s greatest commonality even?!) It’s an act of pure necessity that is, on occasion, done with someone else in mind. Yes, the latter referencing those moments when as women, we contemplate strapping on a garter, which by all means is terribly sexy for every participant involved, or some other lacey, under-wired and generally uncomfortable contraption in hopes of feeling and looking as enticing as I imagine a 1920s cabaret singer to have been.
But there is something to be said about simplicity and dressing for yourself, as is evident by today’s images featuring Lexie, a baker by trade and one of my ultimate girl crushes.
Within the confines of our studio, there are very few underwires. Those of us with the luxury of not needing a lot of support often find ourselves partial to the bralettes and the soft, second skin ensembles. We are naturally drawn to a type of comfort and simplicity that doesn’t compromise on sexy femininity.
Ultimately, confidence in one’s self is the sexiest anecdote of them all. I’m constantly reminded of the scene in Eyes Wide Shut where Nicole Kidman is seen wearing a simple white tank and underwear, thinking, “that’s exactly it.” Playful. Sensual. And totally comfortable in every way possible.
Whether you are in a relationship or not, the idea that lingerie is only one thing and for one reason, well that idea just won’t hold any longer. Beautifully made cotton lingerie never looked better.

en ce qui concerne les sous-vêtements, je suis complètement d’accord: simple, doux, confortable… être sexy (ou non) c’est une question d’attitude avant tout… j’aime aussi beaucoup ne pas porter de soutien-gorge du tout, mais plutôt en hiver, l’été, je trouve que ca dévoile un peu trop et ca me dérange…
ah et sinon “bralette” en francais c’est “brassière” ;)

I love this post! Love the idea of rethinking lingerie, this style is so sexy and comfortable. I’ve realized I feel 100x sexier when I’m comfortable! Not too mention this girl has a rockin’ bod. Shows some impressive self-control of not eating all her own baked goods. :)

Je suis tout à fait d’accord. Le comfort avant tout surtout lorsqu’il s’agit de sous-vêtements. Les miens sont très sexy et TRÈS confortable à la fois. Je me sens bien et j’ai confiance en moi, malgré que je sais que personne ne voit mes sous-vêtements à tous les jours. J’ai un copain, il apprécit tout autant que moi, cependant il ne m’a jamais exigé un type de sous-vêtements. Il me dit toujours si tu es bien, c’est l’essentiel et c’est ce que tu penses, le reste on s’en fout. Le coton n’a jamais été aussi sexy!

J’aime beaucoup les sous-vêtements de ce type, c’est-à-dire à la fois basiques et confortables ! Le but est quand même de se sentir bien :-).
