At Alessandra D’urso’s

Elisa was the one who introduced me to Alessandra, right after the Chanel show in March. We had a coffee and I immediately loved her warmth, her understated chic and her artist soul.
Elisa told me “and you should see her apartment, it’s so cool!”
Alessandra is a photographer and a poet. She’s amazingly talented, and today, she’s opening her doors for us…
One of the photographs from my series “PRIMORDIALE” that was shown last year at the Contemporary Art Museum of Palermo. The show is now on view in Paris at Earth Gallery until the 24th of May.
The cover of the catalog of my show “A body split in two will never sleep” that I showed at Gallery Nuke in Paris in 2014. I like to play with polaroids, with the positive and negative.
My beloved polaroid 195 land camera, some of my work and some of my cult books : Opium by Cocteau, Albertinedisparue Proust, Les Nuits Blanches by Dostoevkji, Des Larmes et des Saints by Emil Cioran, Lettre au Père by Kafka
My last publication “For Friends”. One year of travels for Louis Vuitton, 9 little books, crafted by the master Gerhard Steidl. We launched the book with a beautiful exhibition, produced and curated entirely by Steidl himself in January at the Espace Culturel Louis Vuitton, and in Milan at the Galleria Carla Sozzani in Corso Como 10.

La derniere photo m’a renversee ! Ce grand espace clair et lumineux avec ces taches de couleurs est magnifique !
Beau reportage et belles photos, comme d’habitude.
So delightful and wonderful to see. Thank you! :)
Un endroit “habité” dans tous les sens du termes. Profond, léger, inspiré et vivable.
Je ne pensais pas qu’on pouvait avoir des apparts comme ça à Paris. J’aime.

Love her artistic photography, she is very close to your own style Garance…her space is amazing …but i am not so fun of clean apartment like that ..it can be an office an apartment to rent …it has no real emotion..real personal touch that will make this place unique..or will give you a sense of location heritage mystery…

A beautiful post! Thank you.
And Erik, you perfectly captured the spirit of those Jack Russell terriers. From what I know, they have pep, lots of personality and are quite loving and sweet. Outdoorsy but not too big (Garance are you paying attention?).
Soon we will be leaving our home of 23 years to move closer to NYC, so this Friday inspiration is much appreciated.
Thank you Judith! They were incredibly charming pups, but had to have equal frame time, of course ;)
Quelle luminosité dans ces photos ! Et quelle douceur sur cette ravissante jeune femme. Et se dire poète et photographe, je trouve ça terriblement sexy ;)
My idea of a *perfect* loft! So much clean space for creativity to grow into. Yes, thank you, Erik, for capturing the spirit of the decor in your photos.
Thank YOU!
Alessandra made it pretty easy for me, though.
;)
It’s true!
Her apartment is really cool! It’s a source of inspiration!

Erik captured this space and doggies beautifully. Want to see more of Erik and his work.
Lovely space. Her photographs are inspiring. And the dogs! However, what I want to know is where those blue and white striped mugs are from. Merci.
Great post! I love these pictures!

Truly inspiring. I love her work. If I could only simplify my workspace and life as she has done.

Beautiful. You can see the talent in the images, the spaces they create within them and the dialogue with the words/poems.

What a wonderful post! I am currently trying to add some more art into my own home and these photos certainly gave me some ideas on how to do that!
