Scribe’s Historic Hacienda
5 years ago by
Walking into Scribe Winery feels like walking into your best friend’s home… if your best friend happened to live on the most beautiful vineyard in Northern California, in an artfully restored 1880’s Hacienda.
This is not just any old winery…
What I mean is: there is a special warmth, an intimacy, a history, and a heightened level of care that is palpable from your first steps onto the property.
And it makes sense. Scribe is a family business, through and through. It is co-owned by brothers (Andrew and Adam Mariani), with their sister overseeing the food program (Kelly Mariani).
That’s precisely the culture of Scribe. Gone are the days of pretentious “wine snobs.” Have a question? Ask it. The Mariani siblings want to educate and share. The space’s big wooden tables and outdoor picnic-style seating beckon for guests to join in on the family affair, to cozy up with a glass of wine and stay awhile.
Paint from the under-layers of the hacienda’s renovation peek through the new wall-coverings. Paired tastings are served, not from a menu, but from the farm’s freshest ingredients, serving as daily inspiration. Instead of small flights of wine, guests sip on full glasses.
Each detail is sensationally thoughtful, evoking history, character, and charm at every turn.
You know that feeling when you return home from a trip and you’re just so grateful to be in your own home again? Well, that feeling of “Aaah, I’m home” is exactly how you’ll feel while you’re at Scribe. Basically, you’ll never want to leave.
Hello, in french the traduction says North Carolina instead of Northern California… Great pictures!
