Another Monday, another Postcard from Home! This time from Jamie Pelayo of natureofthings.
Name: Jamie Leilani Pelayo
Place of quarantine: At home in Malibu, California
Quaranteam: My husband Jerome, son Nero and three lady sheep and four lady chickens
Last thing you ate: Peanut butter, honey and banana on homemade sourdough bread
Favorite dance song: My son and I have been grooving recently to Donovan’s Atlantis.
Last thing you watched: Theater of Life, a documentary about renowned chef Massimo Bottura’s gourmet soup kitchen using food waste to feed the needy in Milan.
Last thing you read: Eastern Body, Western Mind: Psychology and the Chakra System as a Path to the Self — I’ll be gifting this one out to my loved ones the rest of the year.
First thing you want to do when this is all over: It’s a tie between dipping my toes in the ocean and my favorite monthly self-care practice of an intensely painful, yet extremely therapeutic wet cupping gua sha session with my Eastern medicine practitioner.
An indulgence you give yourself most days: A long soak in our Restorative Floral Bath and salt & vinegar potato chips
Item of clothing most worn: At the beginning of quarantine it was raining a lot, so I was living in my Hunter Boots. Now that late spring / early summer is in bloom I’ve been loving going barefoot in this raw silk dress by Ozma.
Workout of choice: Peloton and mobility stretching, more stretching than anything else since I’m still juggling work and mom duties. I’m envious of those who have endless hours to jump on virtual workout sessions!
Food most consumed: My husband’s homemade Greek-style lemon potatoes and sourdough bread.
New quarantine hobby: Taking a Masterclass in conservationism with Jane Goodall and making flower essences for my Gaia School of Healing final project.
Charity you’re supporting: My brand natureofthings has been donating our Superlative Body Balm pain relief balm and Fortifying Magnesium Soak directly to first responders and healthcare workers on the frontline of the COVID-19 response.
