A Beauty Minute With Rachel Peru
6 years ago by
Morning: I have never spent a lot of time on my skincare routine until I turned 40. My skin is definitely changing and needs more attention. I love the natural approach to Neal’s Yard products and they suit my skin. I use the Frankincense Rejuvenating Cream in the morning. I have just started using their White Tea Toning Eye Gel to try and wake my eyes up a bit. For make-up I always start with This Works, In Transit Camera Close Up Primer. I regularly have make up free days to give my skin a break but wearing the primer makes me feel less naked and gives me a healthy glow. I am discovering that less is more when it comes to what suits me now make-up wise. Good brows, brown mascara, Nars concealer and Kate’s Rimmel nude lipstick and I’m good to go! My hair has changed texture since it’s gone all grey and I use the Milkshake Silver shampoo once a week to keep any yellow tones away.It doesn’t suit a lot of conditioner now so I maintain it with a weekly Milkshake Active Milk Mask which smells delicious too.
Day: I am obsessed with the Neal’s Yard Wild Rose Beauty Balm. I use it on my lips, my eyebrows and it’s great on my cheeks if I need a quick highlighter. My favourite perfume I always carry with me is the Agent Provocateur Maitresse. It’s a beautifully sensual fragrance, I call it my ‘grown up’ perfume.
Evening: I keep my routine quite simple and use the Neal’s Yard Frankincense Refining Cleanser followed by the Frankincense Toner. I was using the Frankincense Night Cream too but it was too heavy for my skin so I’ve changed to the Vitamin E & Avocado which suits me much better.
Rachel Peru is someone to admire. A former nursery teacher and mother of three, she went grey at thirteen and proceeded to dye her hair up until four years ago when, at 43, she let herself go grey. Now at 47 she’s reinvented herself as a curve model and credits her grey locks as catching the eye of agencies and brands alike. Bravo, Rachel! We admire you.

Very nice post on beauty at middle age. Keep it going!
Love the easy-does-it skincare routine. Nothing too out there, expensive, or intense. It’s also a breath of fresh air to find people using mostly affordable products – she obviously gets great results. My sensitive skin often reacts to the “fancy” products – no matter how “gentle” they supposedly are. I reviewed one of my favorite gentle, organic, brightening face masks made from plants here: https://bit.ly/2GXzLEK
An interview with this beautiful lady soon? she looks very interesting (see instagram about her work)! Pleasssse!
Showcasing beautiful gray hair is always a plus. Need to see more!
