A Beauty Minute with Tata Harper

Morning: I like to start my routine by buffing and polishing my skin with Regenerating Cleanser — I like exfoliating in the morning because it gets rid of the buildup that accumulates overnight, it lets my skin breathe and glow right away and it also helps products sink in better. I follow with Hydrating Floral Essence to prep my skin for treatment and help my serums penetrate deeper.
Then, it’s all about layering — I use Elixir Vitae on my face and neck, then Restorative Eye Crème around my eyes and my last step is Repairative Moisturizer. I don’t really wear a lot of makeup, but I do love blush! I always finish with Very Naughty on my lips and cheeks and I also like to put a little bit on my forehead to add some dimension and make it more of a natural flush.
Day: The product I can’t live without is Very Naughty. I’m obsessed with blush, so I always have it in my bag for whenever I need a touch up. Aromatic Irritability Treatment is a must-have for me — you never know when you’ll need to take a minute to calm your mind throughout a busy day. I usually have a little compact mirror with me and the Alima Pure Cream Concealer, especially when I’m traveling.
Night: At night I love to double cleanse. First I massage in the Nourishing Oil Cleanser. I follow with the Purifying Cleanser, especially when I’m traveling and my skin has been exposed to a lot of pollution. Then I use the Concentrated Brightening Essence and Elixir Vitae on my face and the Boosted Contouring Serum on my neck. I like a thicker eye cream at night so usually use a thick layer of the Boosted Contouring Eye Mask and will sometimes layer Elixir Vitae Eye Serum on top when my eyes need some extra attention. Then, last is moisturizer. Depending on how dry my skin is feeling I will use either Crème Riche or then Retinoic Nutrient Face Oil as my last layer — on especially dry winter days, I like to cocktail them together for extra hydration and recovery.
My favorite part of my night routine is my bath ritual. I’m a firm believer in nightly baths, and it’s something I’ve been doing since my kids were born. My bath sets the tone for the rest of my evening — it’s the start of the most relaxing part of the day, and is a great opportunity to take some time for myself. I will sometimes add aromatherapy to the bath water when I really need to decompress. In terms of haircare, I love Rahua. Post-bath I use Revitalizing Body Oil, I like to massage it onto damp skin. I feel like it helps lock in even more moisture to make my skin super soft and smooth.
Any beauty rituals you are practicing at the moment that you’re a fan of?
Personally, I’ve always thought of beauty as being a part of my general wellness. I think they’re connected, just like other habits that add to your own sense of wellbeing, like exercise or diet. Of course, wellness is unique to each person, but one of my favorite rituals is meditation. I like to wake up a little bit before my kids are up so I have time to meditate. Meditation doesn’t have to be long — I like using the Insight Timer app, which allows me to do a guided meditation for 5-10 minutes so my mind is clear and I feel centered before conquering the day. Another ritual of mine is taking daily supplements – I like to mix a bunch of different ones into my breakfast smoothie. Some of my favorites are: 10 Mushroom Blend Mix from Four Sigmatic, Superfood from Pure Synergy, Marine Collagen from Vital Proteins, and Mucuna Pruriens from Sun Potion.
Wow there are a lot of great beauty tips in there, which are exactly what I need since I have a similar type of feeling about this entire situation. Nice read and keep it up.
Amazing and beautiful! Keep it up!
