A Beauty Minute With Hannah Dilworth
9 years ago by
Morning: First things first, I have always cherished my sleep and am known for my napping skills. I think getting enough sleep is key towards your beauty and health. So, after I have slept in as late as I possibly can, I wash my face with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and then spritz my face with Rosewater by Heritage Store or, when I’m feeling fancy, I use Caudalie Beauty Elixir which smells like a spa. Then I put on CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30.
I like to think of myself as pretty low maintenance and I don’t think it looks like I wear a ton of makeup, but somehow I have managed to acquire a long list of products that I use every day. After I moisturize, I use Makeup Forever HD Invisible Cover Concealer under my eyes and on any trouble stops. My friend Dana who is a fellow product junkie got me into Boscia BB cream which I really like. Then I use Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfecter. I have been using this product for years! It evens out your skin tone and helps keep away shine.
I have very fair skin, so I add a little bronzer with Dior Hydra Life Pro Youth Skin Tint, brush on Laura Mercier Mineral Pressed Powder, and finish off with with blush and highlighter. I use Nars Multiple in either Orgasm or Laos and Benefit Watts Up on my cheekbones and a little on my brow bone. For eyes, I just curl my lashes and use Benefit They’re Real Mascara.
Last winter, when the cold and snow felt like it was never going to end, I started to dabble into lipstick and it totally opened up a whole new world to me. During those winter months lipstick made me feel alive and awake. I love how it can instantly make you feel confident, sexy and pulled together. Some of my favorites are: Nars Heat Wave, Nars Dragon Girl, Mac Ruby Woo, Stila Carina and I like to line my lips first with Laura Mercier True Red Lip Pencil. Maybe it’s just me but I swear the liner helps it stay on longer.
Day: The beauty products I always carry in my bag are Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfecter, Lucus Paw Paw lip ointment, Dyptique roll on perfume in Eau Moheli, and one of my favorite lipsticks. When you know you’re going to be out all day, having a lipstick helps you make the transition from day to night.
Night: It sounds funny, but I look forward to my night time routine. It’s a nice way to wind down and also feel like you are treating yourself a bit. I use coconut oil to take off my eye makeup and lipstick. I get the rest off with Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes. I wash my face with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and then spray on rosewater. My skin is very sensitive and can get really dry and irritated particularly in the winter. Weleda moisturizers are amazing. I go between either the Iris Hydrating Facial Lotion or Wild Rose Soothing Facial Lotion. To get rid of an annoying zit I swear by Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. If my eyes are feeling a little puffy I use either Clinique All about eyes rich cream or Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift eye gel. I try to do a mask once a week. Boscia black and white masks are so good, and Caudalie Moisturizing Cream Mask is perfect when my skin is feeling extra dry.
Hair: I cut my hair this short six years ago. I have a very small face and head, and I always felt like my long hair overpowered me. After I cut my hair short, I really came into my own and now it’s kind of my signature. It’s also a real conversation starter…people love to ask me about it,which I find fun. If I go much longer than about eight weeks I start to get a mullet, which is not a good look. Luckily my hairdresser Emily at Arrojo has become a good friend and I don’t let anyone but her get close to it. I don’t like when my hair is too clean, so I add in oil with OGX argan oil of morocco. As for products, my husband and I conveniently both use Baxter of California Clay Pomade. Last but not least, Sun In. It gives me the best blonde sunkissed color. In the summer I spray it on and let the sun highlight it, but in the winter I use the heat from a blowdryer to activate it and voila beach blonde all year around!”
So pretty, I love that lipstick!

Super article. Elle est vraiment très jolie !
(NB. petite remarque toutefois, si je peux me permettre… mais c’est juste pour les prochaines fois : le “un peu de” est répété – beaucoup – trop souvent…)

I also love the CeraVe Hydrating cleanser, and the Day moisturizer with SPF30. These products are plain, and so effective. My skin is crazy sensitive, and these really work.
If only I could wear my hair that short! So beautiful!
XO
I am a long time fan of using rosewater. Loving her minimal, fresh look!
It’s nice to hear of a woman who actually admits to wearing significant makeup. She looks polished, fresh and put together. Nice face!
dear studio

elle est si mignonne. comme toutes tes “Beauty minute”, j’aimerais juste savoir qui c’est ?
Oh, I love beauty minutes. Only downside is that I always feel like I need to buy and try 10 new products:)
But it’s a great inspiration, and she is so lovely!
Cute pixie girl. Im wondering, does everyone think they have sensitive skin? Cause everyone probably doesnt. I think people think that because they like the idea of being sensitive, even their skin…
…I know my skin is sensitive because it gets brilliant red, like a bad sunburn, and hive marks, with any product I have ever tried with fragrance or scrubbing elements. Facials produce the same effect…as do cleansing brushes, no matter how soft, washcloths, retin-a, sunscreens, anything with alcohol…..maybe this isn’t true for everyone that calls their skin sensitive…..

She has a great routine!!! It’s SO refreshing to hear from someone who admits to using products and makeup. It’s real. Keep it coming! And I second the appeal for more visibility for women over 40. We look good and look after ourselves too ;).
she is so cute !!

Ca serait top d’avoir une beauty minute avec une fille a la peau mixte sujette aux boutons, je serai curieuse de voir les produits qu’elle utilise… Merci Garance :)
