  • I’m gonna say this…(my) best Paris show so far. They make me proud of being italian because (despite their terrible accent haha) they’ve been able to translate Valentino to the future…it’s all about shapes, details and great craftmanship, something very difficult to reach. Chapeau or, maybe better for them, bravi!

    xx

  • Garance, I said it 1 thousand times: every year I enjoy having a look to all the collections, but I think Valentino is the best designer: so chic, so feminine, so elegant!
Lovely video with a lovely music!!!

  • O wow…. I loved the video!! It’s amazing to see everyone at work, and to see all those delicate fabrics. If only I had the money…

J’adore, j’adoooooooooore !!!

  • Tres tres belle!

  • Great video! Like the look behind the scenes.

  • Whaou!!!

    xx

  • It’s like getting a glimpse into the world of every girls dream. It’s quite surreal, and at the same time you feel like you’re there. Well.. I wish I was there.

Superbe!

C’est si léger, envoûtant et féérique ! Merci à toute l’équipe.

  • So, so gorgeous. His skill for transcending the times with Valentino has made it a flawless transition. Even though every piece is so ‘light and fragile’ I want them all for my work, for parties, for dinners. Valentino for the modern woman, she who leaves at 8:30 and returns at 21:00!

  • Always a great show, with timeless elegance.
Great to see people who work behind the collection, really amazing people.

Elle me rappelle “The day before” de Loïc Prigent.

  • Wait what do they do with the edited pieces? Do they just go to the showroom or…do they give them away… ;)

This video was so well done; perhaps the best so far!!! And the craftsmanship (at Valentino) is exquisite; just so terribly divine. I hope you continue to post videos like this on a daily basis Garance; I can’t get enough!! I just can’t get enough..

That video is as if it all happened in a dream. I love how the cloths come alive when they are on the models. So beautiful.

  • C incroyable! T’as trop de chances! Love it!

That’s what femininity is all about.
Fairytale! Love the music, what is it?

  • Well done! Lovely to see the petites mains.

  • one word: STUNNING.

    The ambiance is fabulous!

  • Again one amazing and lovely video!

  • oh lala… tout simplement magique.

  • This is another world. Sublime!

  • creative hive! I believe it was gorgeous and almost mysterious experience! Grazie! for being there with you :)

  • Valentino love! Such a great video. I love the preview and that everyone is working by hand. How chic.

    xoxo

  • This video actually makes me what to cry… I think it’s because I have been thinking about all these amazing handcraft techniques around the world that are being lost so I really appreciate all this hard work and intricacy to make something beautiful. x

  • Oh Garance, how I envy you for being able to preview Valentino. The laser cut dress is beyond words! I can only dream that maybe one day I can preview the collection of Valentino, Alexander McQueen, Celine, Stella McCartney, Dior. By the way, is it just me or Pierpaolo looks like Renato Carosone?

    http://www.chasingruins.com/

  • Lovely – and the perfect mix of music and image – such a treat to see the craft and skill behind the beautiful fashion. (It is a testament to your skill with photography and film that these delightful videos can capture the hearts of people like me — far far from the fashion world.)
    thank you!

  • I am overwhelmed… This was wonderful, and touching, and magic.
And all your last videos, are just amazing!

Remember your post about incorporating videos in your blog?
I made a comment, which sounds so wrong right now: these last PMF videos have really touched me as interesting, inspiring, and very well executed.
I’m loving your work: you have really a great talent and you look wonderful inside out.
Thank you for bringing us to fashion week!

  • thank you so so much for these gorgeous videos! i get such vicarious pleasure from ‘going with you’ and ‘meeting’ or seeing all these places and people that i usually just read about.

one of your best videos! fantastic

  • Bonjour !!

Garance, your videos are SUCH a feast for the eyes and the soul… you open up my world to a place I can only imagine. I am a photographer living in Vancouver, Canada and each morning I watch and live vicariously through you. THANK you for sharing and inspiring! Keep up the GREAT work. xo

  • That is why Valentino is considered “The Last Emperor.”
Such intricate handiwork – molto benne! Great video! Only Anna del Russo can get away wearing an ostrich cocktail dress at 10:00 a.m.!

Check out the latest jesusfernandez lingerie (Buenos Aires) glamor video on youtube (only 3 min.):
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LygRLoH9AVs&feature=youtu.be

  • wow, what an experience to see something like this! I mean, not only see but experience it! I can’t even find the right words, this is how beautiful I found it to be. Not only the clothes, not only the show but the entire package. Again, wow, and thank you so so much for sharing it with us!

  • Garance,

Thank you so much for your beautiful videos!
You present them with such simplicity and and so gracefully!
It’s strange, I feel that I’m right there by your side!!

    Greetings from Athens!

  • Charlotte October, 4 2012, 1:44 / Reply

As much as people like Isabel Marant, I am not a fan. I really don’t seem to like what she does. but I guess that’s the beauty of it all… that there’s enough for everyone.

  • Oh! Wow! A dream! That would be THE DREAM come true for me, a preview, where you can actually touch and feel the fabric and watch how they create the pieces of art! That would be better than sitting front row! And I love the music you chose for this video, dreamlike!

  • Charlotte October, 4 2012, 1:45 / Reply

Oh Garance you are fantastic. I love your videos.

And what a life! I’d love to be rushing to get into those shows with beautiful clothes. What are the people like though? In general, it seems like a somewhat obnoxious, arrogant industry, and I wondered what is true of that from someone who lives it from the very inside. Is the fashion show as superficial as it seems? Is there space for amateurs who would like to watch a fashion show in fashion week for example, or for spontaneity among the people who attend this kind of events? (of course, not counting you with your loveliness!) I hope you can write a post or do a video on this at some stage…

What are your favourite Paris spots Garance? I’d love to know those hidden gems that only a Parisian can tell you about. Places to see, cafés, places to go for a walk, clubs, shops, parks…?

  • je veux me marier en Valentino!!

  • Eh ben moi Garance,

    Bravissimo!

    http://www.lecritiquedeparfum.com/ ?

  • They are amazing! Did everyone notice they have pictures of Susan Sontag on their inspiration board! They design for women who appreciate beautiful fashion but also women who READ! How crazy is that!

Gorgeous video, gorgeous Valentino. I love your perspective of fashion, you give it life and make it feel very tangible.

  • WOW!!! Thanks Garance for this video. It is such a delight for your eyes!!! I was literaly hypnotised by the delicatessen of all the materials used… I think you appreciate even more the show once you’ve seen closely the work provided by the all Valentino team.

Thanks again Garance! You made my day :)

  • It’s good to see and KNOW that Valentino IS Valentino and always will be.

This video is incredible! You did a fabulous job and the music fit beautifully with the piece. Keep up the work and keep inspiring other to step outside their comfort zone as well.

  • Valentino always brings tears to my eyes and a lump to my throat! So, so, so beautiful. Thank you SO much for sharing that beautiful video Garance *:)

    Dear Garance,
Your videos this week have been so incredible. They have taken me inside the world of fashion week in a way I have never been to able to go before. (A way I doubt I ever will be able to first hand, because I have taken such a different direction with my life, but still remain passionate about fashion.) So, a thousand thank yous to you!
    Merci,
    Elizabeth

  • Anna is so fun!
I am swooning all over these clothes. Gorgeous <3

    The Lovelorn

  • First… I have to say I love your outfit!! I’ve been looking for different ways to wear a peplum top I have and you have inspired me.
Second, what a dream. To hear from the people who make and handle these pieces, to hear and see what is behind them is so interesting. And the clothes are so breathtaking, so delicate but strong. Wonderful film.

  • Absolutely Stunning!!!

  • Garance, thanks so very much for taking me to the Valentino preview with you. This was the first time for me too! My mother was a consummate seamstress for forty years and I’m quite proud of that. Seeing the craftsmanship in this video — the women sewing, the designers showing the details of the garments — made my heart swell.

I don’t know if your reaction to Anna’s dress was edited out, or whether you’ve become so blase because you see her rather often. She’s hilarious! I just love her spirit!

You’re showing even more of yourself these days, and showing us more of the fashion world. I liked you very much before but now I’m totally in love with you!

  • Hi, I was wondering if it would be possible for you to upload the videos to upload the videos to any websites apart from youtube as well (eg. in China there is youku) for people who live in countries where youtube is blocked… although yeah not sure if it’s worth it because there may not be that many readers in this situation! anyway, love your blog!

  • love your work! keep it up girl!

  • Quelle beauté!

  • thanks so much for taking me into Valentino!! So cool!

    I need a fashion shower!

  • WHAT A DREAM !

    Love.

I had tears in my eyes. Absolutely a dream. Thanks!

  • Wow, finally something beautiful after the mega-boring LV, Miu Miu, Saint Laurent and so on…

    Ciao x

  • Garance, this videos of behind the scenes are very interesting. I love to see the people who actually put the manual labor into making beautiful clothing. The clothes were very beautiful.

  • This preview is a very nice way, intimate way of showing the collection. Ordinary people like me could understand it more, rather than when it’s already in the runway, looking at the photos. Thanks for sharing.

  • Wonderful video as always ! Whats the music behind ??

  • I loved this – it’s the first time I think I saw the art of fashion, instead of it just being an enterprise directed towards the rich. Fashion is beautiful for its own sake at this level – the intricacy and detail and finesse – rather than being merely one more consumable for the wealthy. Thank you so much for revealing this – and with so much respect.

  • very impressive video, like to see this.

  • La collection est juste incroyable ! J’adore :)
