Biologique Recherche P50

I had been hearing “cultish” things regarding Biologique Recherche P50 lotion for a few years now. If you’re not aware, P50 lotion swept the nation a few years back (as well as in the 70s) as one of the harshest chemical exfoliants on the market. And despite the clean beauty moment that up-ticked at the same time, people went BANANAS for it.
The whispers–all right, shouts–from the roof tops, were so cultish-y, I refused to try it myself. It just seemed too good to be true (like, ahem, a cult).
But dammit, it works. And it’s damn expensive. And it smells awful. This is one of those products that you don’t put on your face to enjoy the process of self-care. This is one of those products that you put on your face to have glowing skin, so self-care doesn’t even seem all that necessary anymore (at least, my self-care needs spike to an all-time high when my skin is a wreck).
And truth be told, you know what I would rather be doing than a 10-step routine every night while praying to the skin gods? Just using this a few times a week and feeling great.
