Each time I see her at Fashion Week, I admire her elegance and her mystery.
I love Stylebop’s Fashion Director Leila Yavari’s style, and I’ve been following it for a few seasons… It’s time to share it with you!!!

I have a question that I have been meaning to ask you about these last series of fashion stories. Are the clothes, the subjects? Do they chose the clothes in their closets (with you) and then you shoot them or are they the real clothes the subjects were wearing when you occasionally met them? Or is it just a fashion shoot like in any magazine (which I don’t mind – I’m just asking)?
Hi Ana! Great question. We feature a mixture, so that we can highlight both personal style as well as fashion ideas that are styled by our Fashion Editor, Brie. For this post, it was all Leila’s personal wardrobe that was shot – and this is the case also for our Style Stories. When we speak about someone’s style, it is their clothing we show. When we talk about a trend, it’s more like a styled magazine shoot. Hope that’s helpful!

She looks great – very elegant, but not dressed up or distant (if you know what I mean).
She looks like she’s very much herself, which is – regardless of the particular style – the best look ever.
I find it remarkable that she isn’t wearing a lot of makeup of accessories – and it doesn’t seem as if she tried to look any more perfect or younger than she is. Great reminder that you shouldn’t try to be something you’re not!

Seize your Style
I noticed that she doesn’t wear a lot of colors, the ones that she has on are very classic: white, black, beige/tan, cream, and very light blue. She also doesn’t have a lot of accessories. She doesn’t even seem to carry a bag. And her makeup is very minimal as well. I think what I admire about her style is the restraint it shows.

She looks great because she is beautiful and because she doesn’t look fashionable – it’s just the clothes working for her. It’s very refreshing to see such timelessness in a see of trends.
