My friend Amanda was recently visiting from her home in Oxford, England. She always looks so chic, I just love her style – it has a truly international feel…
The way she brings together the feminine and masculine is always so effortless. Like here, where the feminine details of this outfit are so subtly executed… the knee-length skirt in dark hues, the classic Céline bag, and a detail I love, the detail of the summery shoes worn with stockings.
It wouldn’t work in the snow, but I love the idea of mixing seasons… is that something you do ?

C’est génial et inspirant de regarder une femme qui a du style, ton amie porte les habits et ce ne sont pas les habits qui la portent, pour moi. J’aime le détail de la ceinture et du foulard, il m’arrive de porter une robe légère en hiver avec des collants et un pull en laine, mais depuis que j’ai trier ma garde robe, j’ai racheté des habits pour l’hiver mais pas encore pour l’été, et j’ai virer beaucoup d’habits d’été que je ne mettais plus, mais je vais désormais réfléchir à comment je veux m’habiller l’été, ce que je trouve très dur car on a pas besoin d’être beaucoup couvert mais les pièces qu’on porte doivent être efficaces et bien coupées, la perle rare :)

While I think she has great style there comes a time when you have to say Pleeeeeease….you’re trying waaaaay to hard to be different! Sandals or whatever you may want to call the “things” on her feet look idiotic with a fur coat! There’s fashion and then there’s stupid fashion!
I totally agree. She looks like a beautiful woman, but imho this look isn’t working – the shoe combo, and also the colors.
And I can’t think of any climate where the combo of fur coat and sandals would work (especially not the British weather)!!!

It’s the colour palette and the textures that I’m drawn to. I feel like all I see on the internet and instagram are people wearing black and white with no colour but this shows us how colour doesn’t have to be in your face. Bravo

Des sandales en hiver… bien sûr à Montréal, la simple évocation de l’idée me gèle les pieds. Par contre, lors de soirées d’été à la campagne, je porte volontiers des bottes western avec une robe estivale courte ou longue et une veste Cavale en toile militaire recyclée. Le look est unique … j’adore

I do this all the time, because i live in New Zealand and we very often have at least 3 if not 4 seasons in a day.

C’est très joli, les matières lourdes et épaisses donnent toujours de l’allure …
Je ne porte pas de fourrure comme cette jeune femme, mais je porte des sandales, l’hiver, avec des collants,
et particulièrement j’aime les sandales avec talons hauts et semelles bois (type hasbeens par exemple). Ou les sandales compensées APC que j’adore. Comme je ne me maquille plus – je m’en fiche pour des raisons diverses – et que j’ai la flemme de me coiffer vraiment, et bien j’ai vraiment plaisir à regarder cette photographie. On va dire que c’est un autre style de sophistication. Pour une fois je me reconnais dans un style.
Oui j’aime bien mettre un jean blanc l’hiver …. Pour les shoes non… Quoique des tongs avec des grosses chaussettes

I’ve always felt that wearing summer clothes in winter was a sure sign of poverty (because it would mean that you do not have enough money to buy real winter clothes)… So can’t wear sandals with thights. That’s that.

Vraiment trop fan des chaussettes/collants dans les chaussures d’été en hiver. C’est un bon moyen de pouvoir les porter toute l’année et de faire la paix avec les chaussettes : je déteste ça, j’en porte le moins possible sauf quand vraiment je ne peux les éviter.

J’ai beaucoup de mal à l’idée de porter des chaussures d’été avec des collants … mais en général, je fini par m’habituer à une idée et quelques temps après je fini par adopter la tendance … alors peut être que dans quelques temps ….

Jamais! Le bout des pieds avec le bout de collant qui dépasse de la chaussure ouverte, quelle horreur; plutôt mourir :-) !!
Ce matin, en banlieue de Montréal, le thermomètre de la voiture indique un -24°…Alors pour les sandales, même avec de grosses chaussettes en laine mérinos, c’est juste impossible. Ici les sandale c’est l’été seulement et sans chaussettes heureusement! Mais le look d’Amanda est vraiment nice!
Dans la vraie vie + vrai hiver + fonctionnalité, l’équation sandales + collant = pneumonie (ou au mieux les pieds mouillés), donc non…cela dit au printemps pourquoi pas!?

Sandals and socks/stockings make sense in LA– it’s not always 80 degrees and it’s never below 60… Obviously she has great style but I think the rope sandal and fur coat here is a non for me.
I don’t care for those particular sandals, but the rest of it is nice. I probably wouldn’t do sandals in winter unless I had a driver or something. I have a commute that involves public transportation (bus), which means waiting outdoors in sometimes frigid temperatures. Practicality over fashion/frostbite for me.
On dirait qu’elle ne porte pas de soutien gorge . Pourquoi pas . C’est une démarche , un style aussi . A y réfléchir .

les chaussures d’été portées avec des collants en plein hiver à Moscou…. nooo way !!! C’est simplement dangereux pour votre santé, après 10 min de marche vos pieds seront gelés . En printemps, ce n’est pas chique non plus, parce que la neige fond et il pleut, après presque 6 moins d’hiver je n’ai pas envie de porter mon manteau de fourrure en printemps, et en plus je pense, que il fait trop chaud pour la fourrure et ce n’est pas cool être en nage en arrivant au travail. Mixer les saisons ça peut être attrayant et charmant si la température ne change pas considérablement pendant l’année. Si non, il faut juste profiter de chaque saison.
I always have to mix seasons because I live in North Dallas in Texas where the mornings can start out in the low 30s and end up in the 50s. So choosing my wardrobe on a daily basis is a styling challenge…which I LOVE.
I love the mix of everything except for the fact that the wedges are covered in rope. I think if the heel was a solid black the look would be more stylish.
