At Charvet
9 years ago by
During my last visit to Paris, I visited Charvet. It’s the most beautiful bespoke shirt maker, located right in the heart of the city.
The interiors of the store are so refined and speak to how long they have been in business — since 1838. There are piles of the most luxurious fabric, mainly French silks and Egyptian cottons. Beyond shirts, they also make robes, ties, accessories and – my favorite – pajamas! Every piece is measured in-house on the customer, with a new pattern made for each design, it is all then sewn in Paris by French ateliers.
These unique items are some of the most coveted in Europe. Even Coco Chanel was once a customer!
Comme c’est beau! Gorgeous pictures, wonderful materials
Quelles belles photos! <3
Ca me rappelle Dubaï… !

Oh my this is definitely on my next to do on the list
when visiting Paris.
Look at those beautiful selections!

Love the pictures..
It’s a great place where you can find quality that doesn’t exist anymore…quality class and “savoir faire” ….
it’s haute couture for pajamas..and shirts…one of the grand grand father of the family had been “curator of the wardrobe” for Napoleon Bonaparte…that is something!!

Such beautiful photographs. The details shots are gorgeous and I just want to put on one of those robes. As a fan of the perfect white shirt, this store will be high on my list when I make a visit to Paris.

Great stuff, pyjamas to wear 24 hours. Also the details like the silky frings are stunning. Thank you so much for this story!

I would love a shirt from Chavret! Especially if it was a man’s shirt. I forever steal my husband’s shirt and he got a bit fed up after we bot wanted to wear it on the same day (I got to wear it at the end :). I would treasure such shirt for years and will definitely go there when I’m in Paris in the summer.

ok, this is weird, but the picture of shirts in frames made me feel uncomfortable…
Hard to say why, maybe because of the empty stiff collars “where are the heads ??”… haha
anyway, the photo made me feel something very strong… definitely a good one !
Magnifiques photos ! <3
Superbes photos !

So happy to see your post! I haven’t been to Paris in years but I have been compiling a must-do list. Buying shirts at Charvet and getting stationery at Stern Graveur are top of my list :) Now, if only I can find someone to babysit my three young kiddos for a week….
This is Wonderful. Now I`ll be dreaming of robes and pajamas…

I found a Charvet shirt at a consignment shop, last week, and couldn’t believe somebody would part with it. Love these shots!
