Chignon Tressé

I have looooong, super thick hair (thanks, mom). Every time I go to the hairdresser there are ooohs and aaahs and oh, she’ll never go bald!
And I appreciate it, promise. Most of the time I really like having so much hair… but it can get in the way. It always ends up in my face (or food or just wherever), so I’m constantly looking for new, easy solutions to pull it back. I love the romantic look of a braid bun, and it’s so easy and quick to pull together — even on the go.
It’s simply a matter of pulling your hair into a ponytail, plaiting it and then twisting into a bun. And although it only takes five minutes, it always looks so chic. Don’t you agree?
Such a cute bun.

I have long hair but not thick. You have no idea how sad I get when I think about how not-thick it is. But… you got to make do with what you have. I think if I put a braid bun, my hair would look even thinner.

It’s so elegant..the perfect “chignon” and with the different size of a bun you can have a great look…so easy and elegant…

Unless you have layered, coarse Asian hair, in which case you end up looking like a porcupine.
Perfect look!
I love that version of ballerina bun. It;s my go to up do but because I have such fine hair I need to tease them a lot to get the omph effect :)

Thank you from one thick-haired girl (and her daughter) to another!
thinks for this great post I like it
I have to confess, I have rather long hair and have sometimes braided my hair just to keep it out of the way (or to create natural waves in my hair) but I’ve always disliked braiding for aesthetic purposes because I’ve found it to look too informal. I’ve normally just settled for leaving my hair down for the majority of the time. Never once have I even considered just pinning the braid itself up into a bun. Now that you’ve mentioned it, it actually looks like a beautiful style to use and I’m definitely going to give it a try the next time I braid my hair.
I’m so glad. It really is such an easy, chic hair style — and it works with both thick and thin hair. I’m sure it will look lovely on you!
I love a bun and any twist is a fab new edition. I have thick curly hair and when I don’t have time to style it (read most mornings), throwing my hair in a bun is great and I am going to try the one in the photo. With love sojustnice.com
J’adore !
I love this style..so cute…
C’est une des raisons pour laquelle je regrette d’avoir un carré long ! Je ne peux pas me faire de tresse :(
En tout cas très très joli chignon simple et efficace :) j’adore :)
Really like this hair!! So beautiful!!
