Hot, humid, muggy. It’s usually what happens in New York when temperatures start rising. Of course, makeup melts, hair puffs and mascara runs on the cheeks, and it’s like that all summer long, and it’s worse if you laugh to tears often (=me).
Just a little bit of runny mascara is fine – but I often find myself with panda eyes and my friends laughing at me (all right, so I have the bad habit of touching my face a lot which doesn’t help)(here is the videotaped proof)(you have the right to laugh). So, me, I’m switching. I’m going waterproof.
My favorite is Chanel Inimitable Waterproof, but at the Studio we also love Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof (Aaaah, Maybelline mascaras) and the L’Oréal Voluminous False Fiber Waterproof Mascara.
Do you switch your makeup when summer comes?
PS: Now I’m going to have to explore the world of makeup remover, because waterproof stays and there are a couple things that Bioderma can’t undo.
PPS: Loving mascara the way Gabriela, in the photo, is wearing it. So beautiful, also because it’s the only thing she’s wearing (I wouldn’t try that with a red lip).
PPPS : Also loving Gabriela’s non-tweezed eyebrows. Yes, agreed, you need a perfect line to rock that. But seriously, it’s so sublime I’d say think twice before taking out the tweezers!

Je vis à Dubaï et c’est une horreur l’été! Il fait 40°C en ce moment, il va faire environ 50°C en plein mois d’Août!!! Le temps est très humide, dès qu’on marche un peu, on est trempé!!!
Niveau make-up, j’ai trouvé un super eye-liner, celui de Estée Lauder qui ne coule pas du tout! Par contre, il est horrible à démaquiller… Si vous avez des idées, que ce soit pour les crayons noirs, eye-liners ou poudre très très matifiante, je suis preneuse! Merci!

Haha, le mascara waterproof, c’est tout ce que je déteste, j’ai l’impression qu’il ne part jamais, à moins de m’enlever la totalité de mes cils (ce qui est un peu embêtant voire moche!!!).

For someone who lives in a tropical country where it’s practically summer all the time, there isn’t a need to change my makeup! Waterproof all the way for me. Also, Gabriela looks so stunning! Her eyelashes are just… wow and I love how her eyebrows still look great even though they’re not tweezed!

Ben les filles, vous connaissez pas l’huile démaquillante? C’est vraiment le seul produit qui enlève tout le maquillage, et en 10 secondes, sans frotter! (non, je ne parle pas d’un paic Citron, là, lol)(même si c’est un peu le même principe ;))

La “Deep cleansing oil” de DHC est top !
Je confirme. Cette huile est fantastique. Je ne jurai que par la Bioderma Crealine depuis toujours……et j’ai trouvé le holy graal depuis que j’ai découvert cette huile qui VIRE tout. Economie de coton. Rapidité d’action. Economique. Fantastique. Peau parfaitement nettoyée et moins agressée.
Pour les filles à petit budget je conseille aussi l’huile démaquillante de Mixa, elle est vraiment top ! Je la préfère même à la DHC et la Liérac qu j’ai aussi testé ;)
Et je pense la même chose que Bonnie : gain de temps, plus de gaspillage de cotons, plus efficace que les autres démaquillants et cette méthode n’agresse pas ma peau alors que les cotons oui.
Regular waterproof mascara is too much effort for me. I use L’oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes. It’s 100% smudge-proof, but comes off easily with water and your fingers. If you don’t remove it, it will stay in place for 24+ hrs. Amazing stuff.
Because I have to wear contact lenses almost constantly, I cannot use anything else as waterproof Mascara. To take that off, I use Maybelline Augen-Make-Up Entferner spezial waterproof (eye makeup remover special waterproof). It takes off everthing and I use for years now.

For me it is all about cream products come summer! I love the Tarte blush stains, the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess bronzing liquid, the new Chanel cream blushes, Benefit Watts Up highlighter, the Tom Ford shade and illuminate palette…all blending into the skin seamlessly and all heat-friendly. Out come the orange lipsticks, too :) OH, and the Josie Maran illuminating fluid is amazing. Gentle gold sheen in a bottle.
I make an exception for a few favorite powder products, though, NARS gorgeous orange/gold blush in Taj Mahal being one. I try to stay away from waterproof mascara – even though I get teary-eyed easily (all it takes is a bit of wind or a change in light intensity) – because I need to scrub harder to get it off or get heavier products which annoy my eyes (not to mention trying to avoid wrinkles).
So I usually go with smudgeproof mascara, which works fine to a certain degree, and which takes off easier than waterproof. Nonetheless I always carry a pocketmirror with me to check my mascara after I get off my bike and before I head into someplace.
I don’t change my make-up too much with the seasons, but I tend to avoid eyeshadow in Summer – even with a good primer it gets too messy when it’s warm I think.
Ahh and I love the natural eyebrow look!
I’ve been growing mine out, but I don’t think they will ever be so full as in the photo (envious!) – still need to fill ’em in a bit.

et pour le démaquiller, j’utilise une noisette d’huile de sésame, petit massage doux et coton, et hop les yeux sont nikels!
Mon préféré c’est le Last blash Volume de Covergirl ! Et hier je me suis plantée, j’ai pris la version waterproof… Comme un signe que les températures new-yorkaises allaient vraiment grimpées !!!

J’adore l’effet sur ses cils! J’arrive jamais à obtenir un tel effet!
La photo (et la fille) est sublime. C’est ce genre de makeup qui me parle l’été.
Et mon dieu l’été c’est juste un cauchemars niveau makeup !! Je change aussi de makeup et j’ai de la chance maintenant j’en mets beaucoup moins. Je suis sortie de la période de l’adolescence et de ses boutons où je voulais tellement tout couvrir que c’était too much (on a toute faite cette erreur, je crois). Maintenant je n’ai plus rien (enfin sauf pendant les règles où une montagne pousse sur mon front…merci d’en avoir parlé Garance, je me sens moins seule dans cette épreuve) donc je mets juste un tout petit peu de mon fond de teint Vitalumière de Chanel que j’applique avec mes mains comme une BB crème quoi.
D’ailleurs, j’aimerais bien trouver une bonne BB ou CC crème pour avoir quelque chose d’encore plus léger donc si jamais Alex pourrait faire un post là-dessus… (Alex, could you write a post on BB or CC cream for the summer, please?). *-*
Puis après beaucoup de mascara et j’utilise même un recourbe cils, ça change la vie ! Rien sur les paupière ou un peu de cream eyeshadow (c’est super facile, j’en met avec mes doigts et terminé en deux sec). Un peu de gloss (et oui j’aimais pas avant car collant et “bas-de-gamme” selon moi, mais j’en ai trouvé des super par Tanya Burr). Et je finis par de la poudre de soleil car je suis tellement blanche ça fait peur.
Sinon je suis ravie que tu parles des sourcils non-épilés car j’ai 19 ans et j’ai jamais touché à mes sourcils ! Et oui, j’ai toujours eu peur de les épiler. Depuis un moment, en regardant des conseils de makeup artists qui disaient que les sourcils étaient super important, que ça changeait tout le visage, je commençais à culpabiliser de rien faire. Et ben l’autre jour, je suis allée chez Space NK (paradis de produits de beauté anglais) pour me renseigner sur ce que je pouvais faire et j’ai tester un crayon avec la poudre et de l’autre une brosse pour “scuplter les sourcils”. Je sais quand on y pense, on s’imagine ces dames avec le traits de crayon rouge (au secours!), mais ça a littéralement rendu mon regard encore plus profond et j’ai adoré (c’est discret, on fait des petits mouvements comme pour recréer les poils). Donc déjà que je m’épilais pas les sourcils et ben maintenant je les souligne même et je les aime encore plus comme ça. Pas de pince à épiler pour moi ! ;)
Garance, my secret trick to waterproof mascara is a layer of regular mascara first. Let it quickly dry and then apply the waterproof on top. That way the waterproof mascara is not adhered to your eyelashes like glue and actually washes off normally with ease and all eyelashes in tack :)

Smarty pants! I use q-tips with make up remover to get all vestiges of mascara off my eyes, much more precise than cotton pads. Especially when I’ve put liquid liner on the inner lash line and between the lashes (looks great on but what a pain to get off!).
Garance, try removing your eye makeup with pure avocado oil, the cold pressed kind you can find at whole foods. It’s full of gorgeous glowing vitamins and works double duty as a replenishing eye cream after it swipes away waterproof mascara! Bisous from shanghai

I’m using the Estee Lauder serum which is light, moisturizes perfectly and there’s no shiny face no matter how hot then I add a touch of Dior air flash foundation which is the best I’ve ever used. For the eyes I’m using the waterproof mascara from YSL and take it off with the oil make-up remover also from YSL and I do love a red lip all year round so unless I’m at the beach, it’s on.

J’ai essayé beaucoup de mascara pour ma part (YSL, Maybelline, Sephora, Clinique, Lancôme…) Je suis très exigeante avec mes cils ! On m’a, un jour, dit que mon mascara me faisait des pattes d’araignée..!
Horreur ! Je ne supporte pas voir une araignée (quand elle se cache c’est encore pire) alors l’idée que mes yeux ressemblent à des araignées.. bizarrement ça passe pas.
Bref ! J’ai (enfin!) trouvé mon chouchou : le DiorShow Iconic Overcul (j’adore!) Il est parfait.
Je le porte pas en waterproof, je trouve que c’est difficile à enlever et je ne suis pas fan non plus des huiles démaquillantes pour les yeux… (j’ai les yeux sensibles pardessus le marché !)
Mais en même temps mon mascara ne coule pas beaucoup avec moi donc le warterproof n’est pas nécessaire à ma survie ;)
Et évidemment pas de fond de teint mais CC cream. Quelque chose de léger et qui unifie. D’ailleurs si tu as des recommandations en CC cream je suis preneuse ! ;)

Pour enlever le mascara waterproof je commence par l’huile démaquillante ultime8 de shu uemura avec mes petits doigts et je finis par deux cotons imbibés d’eau au bleuet de klorane (douce pour les yeux sensibles) comme ça je n’ai pas les yeux complètement rouges et larmoyants! mes petits yeux bleus ne supportent rien d’autre que la créaline bioderma sinon…
Having oily, acne-prone skin AND curly hair, these months are beauty torture for me. After this winter, all I wanted was warmer weather, and the bad parts are suddenly all coming back to me. I’ve yet to find an ideal combination, since things melt off my skin and I hate the hassle of removing waterproof mascara. Still waiting for gene therapy to correct things from within! ;)

Alors le mascara j’aime beaucoup mais souvent je n’en mets que sur les cils du haut pour pas faire trop maquillée non plus dans la journée !!! Je suis fan, été comme hiver, du Chanel Inimitable Waterproof : il s’enlève tout en douceur avec le démaquillant biphasé Respectissime de La Roche Posay. Pense à en faire provision lors de ton prochain voyage en France !
Enfer et damnation, j’ai cliqué. J’ai cédé aux sirènes de la procrastination et cliqué sur le lien de la vidéo, résultat tu es tellement cool que je viens de passer une heure à mater tes vidéos l’une après l’autre tellement ça file la banane, sauf que j’ai un boulot à rendre dans une heure. Inspire, expire. (oui, je suis cette fille qui perd 3 minutes supplémentaires juste pour te dire qu’elle est à la bourre, mais avec la banane)
Je mets du mascara waterproof tous les jours de l’année et pour l’enlever : huile d’olive bio de ma cuisine (ou huile d’avocat quand j’ai une lubie). Testé et adopté !
I actually have the opposite problem in winter. It gets so cold here that my eyelashes freeze and as soon as they melt the mascara runs underneath my brow. I embrace summer because I finally don’t have to worry about it!
Since switching to waterproof mascara I had to turn to dual-phase make up removers (oil and liquid that you shake to mix together) and they work brilliantly!
I started with Lancome Bifacil, still my favourite and also comes in brilliant travel sizes but a bit expensive, then L’Oreal, Nivea and Boots Botanics… it actually hardly makes a difference in this case!
Next I want to try oils, like simple avocado oil…
Gotta go with tube mascara. That stuff comes off in the shower! But it still stays put in the summer heat and humidity. My favourite is Kevyn Aucoin the curling mascara. There is a volume one too but I’ve never tried it.

I’m the most concerned about the humidity and hair. I have naturally wavy hair that requires a lot of taming during these months! Still trying to figure out if I can use Sea Salt spray instead of mousse so it’s a little more touchable.

Contre le maquillage tenace: sur peau humidifiée ou sèche comme vous voulez, une bonne dose d’huile de jojoba ou de coco dans les mains et on applique sur tout le visage en massant, ou juste les yeux: on presse les cils sur la paupiere du bas doucement mais fermement, et quand on ressemble bien à un épouvantail d’halloween, on nettoie à l’eau et au gant (nouveau gant chaque jour pour éviter les bactéries) et hop tout part, et les huiles naturelles sont super pour lutter contre les rides au passage (et non comédogènes celles-là)^^ et on peut en rajouter jusqu’à ce que tout parte, en alternant huile et eau !
I’ve never even considered using mascara that isn’t waterproof. My favourite is one that a friend of mine got as a gift at Yves Rocher, and passed on to me because she says she can’t wear it. It does not clump, it stays put for ages, and I never get panda eyes! As for taking it off, well, I used not to put it on because of that problem, every remover left my eyes feeling like they’d been dipped in olive oil, or took ages of soaking, rubbing, more soaking… Now I use a cleansing butter and it comes off as easily as normal make up. Mine is from TBS, but I suppose any butter will do. Just really massage it off the lashes with your fingers :)
I only will use tube mascara. Stays on til you take it off. No raccoon eyes ever! Comes off easily with water. I use Trish MacEvoy and Kevin Aucoin ones, didn’t know L’Oreal made one, will have to check that out.
My skin become darker in summer,so i do change my make up. I also avoid fondation cream and opt for blush or powder instead.

Still looking for “the best” tinted sunscreen have tried Dermalogica and Anastasia (I was there)…
Any suggestions? Dermalogica is pretty good but feels sunscreeny and Anastasia is a big thick and I have to mix it to get the right color…kinda of a bummer.
Ah oui je change tout ! Je remplace ma crème hydratante par de l’aloe vera et mon fond de teint par une BB crème SFP 40 pour protéger ma peau contre le soleil, je mets du mascara waterproof et je change mon blush rouge par un blush soleil (coup de coeur pour les beiges de Chanel qui sont mattes et invisibles !)… et puis plutôt des rouges à lèvres corail qui vont bien avec le teint doré que des roses ou des rouges… !

I have not once had trouble with it melting and creasing under my eyes. I have never been a supporter of waterproof mascara. it freaks me out to put something on my eyes that is so hard to get off….
Now that it (finally!) got hotter in New York I switched my moisturizer to natural lavender and chamomile oils, because they are not too heavy. When my face gets a little too much sun and I end up with dry skin and a red nose I will use Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. I use it at night because it is so heavy, but there is nothing better!

Je met la CC de Erborian en début de saison, pas encore trouvé mieux je trouve les BB trop couvrante.
ET comme on va de toute façon briller dans la journée j’ai un étui que je vénère chaque jour depuis des années c’est la Blot Powder de MAC. C’est juste magique. J’ai essayé toutes les poudres invisibles du marché (dont la “it” make up for ever) mais elles laissent toutes un petit film poudré que je déteste. Celle ci est invisible et matifie sans que ca se voit. Assez incroyable.
Pour le mascara c’est waterproof of course et là aussi je suis fidèle au Givenchy. La brosse un peu bizarre fait des cils allongés sans paquets. Ceci dit le L’oreal millions cils est pas mal du tout aussi j’ai les 2 en fait ;)
Et enfin les filles pour le démaquillants waterproof je vous conseille le Laroche Posay. Il est parfait et enlève le mascara en un clin d’oeil. Là aussi j’en ai testé des tonnes tous me piquaint les yeux sauf celui ci!

Perfect summer make up! My problem is not mascara, I can even skip it if it is too hot. My problem is a sweaty shiny face, and trust me, shiny is not a look for me! Not to mention that we also have to use sunblock… Any suggestions?
Use OIL to get the mascara off! I always do a dab of combo grapeseed/extravirginolive oils all over my eyes and give my lashes a good scrub. It has the added bonus of being SUPER good for signs of aging around the delicate eye area. Then I just wash my whole face with a gentle cleanser.
And seriously, Maybelline’s waterproof ‘faux cils’ with the dual top/bottom brushes is ze bestest!
Dior Duo Express Demaquillant Yeux. Best mascara remover I’ve ever used. Very gentle; it doesn’t bother my eyes at all and wipes off completely.
I try waterproof mascara from time to time, but then I hate how hard it is to remove it. That can’t be good for my precious lashes! What I try to do is change up my concealer plan a bit. I’ll use a little of Givenchy Mister Light and then go over that with a dusting of the Bare Escentuals powder concealer with a little brush. Makes for easy touch-ups during the day.
As far as tinted sunscreen, I LOVE Intellishade Broad Spectrum…45 SPF. Very similar to Laura Mercier’s product, but with a higher SPF. Also love Eminence 30 SPF powder.

Bioderma for face makeup removal and straight coconut oil for waterproof mascara.
I totally agree – I use coconut oil on my face as well. I wear waterproof mascara and indelible lipstick year-round, and take it off easily with cold-pressed extra-virgin coconut oil. Massage it in, wipe off with a washcloth soaked in hot water, and voila! Makeup easily gone and your face is soft, glowy and non-irritated. And great for any skin type.
This girl’s eyelashes are just gorgeous! I know my blog partner Alix already made a comment, but I wanted to let you know that as a make up artist I have found the best way to remove waterproof anything is with the cleansing oils. My favorite is the cooling cleansing oil from Boscia. It doesn’t sting my eyes at all and it removes everything. Sometimes I use just a q tip dipped in the oil for the eyelashes and then the other end of the q tip dipped in water to rinse.

I’m a bit afraid of waterproof mascara…especially because it just seems like a lot more work. But I admit to finding running mascara under my eyes (even if I don’t apply on my bottom lashes!)
You know what? I’m sick of mascara and I’ve given it up. It’s a pain to put on and it runs and flakes off during the day. The curler doesn’t last too long either, so they go straight anyway. It’s true that they look beautiful just after you put it on, but I’m not the type to keep reapplying makeup all day long. So, I am not wearing mascara anymore. Not at all. I do still wear a little black liner smudged along the bottom and out the corner a tiny bit, and occasionally something shimmery on my lid, and that is it! What a relief! Besides, all the backstage videos from fashion week showed the models sans mascara…yay!

i only use mascara and lip gloss–similar to this model–and i do use waterproof in the summer-ssooo much easier, as i am active.
i have eyebrows exactly like that and have never tweezed them once–despite entreaties from hairdressers.
i love them–always have, and luckily they do have a good shape, and good volume, so no filling in or tweezing necessary.
I don’t wear makeup when it’s really hot!
Mascara is the one thing that I feel naked without. But I have a lot of problems with raccoon eyes too. I have deep set eyes and very long lashes which, once curled, sit on my upper lid. If I have used waterproof mascara it is terrible, each lash has painted a line on my lid. (Very editorial looking but not the look I’m going for). The only mascara that doesn’t do this to me is max factor 2000 calorie. I’ve been using it for years.
Last summer I was swimming a lot so I got my eyelashes dyed. It wasn’t a dramatic change because I already have black lashes, but the tips are sun bleached, so dying them helped show off their length without using mascara.
I have a friend who gets, I’m not sure how it’s called in English, but eyelash extensions maybe. She gets eyelashes glued on and they last for a few weeks. Hers look a little wierd. A bit of a tangled mess, but I’m sure if they were done well they would be a good substitute to mascara. I think the trick would be to not go too long with them.
Also some one else was talking about sun screen. Could you do a survey maybe about sunscreens that don’t irritate the eyes. Mine always make my eyes tear eventually and then my mascara ends up as a pool under my eye and a long streak down my face. Happened last week while I was riding my bike. It had the added effect of nearly blinding me while trying to maneuver about in traffic.

J’utilise depuis très peu du mascara waterproof, j’ai acheté le smoky lash de make up for ever qui est vraiment très bien, j’en suis très contente (habituellement je mets le shocking de St Laurent)) il donne bien du volume, tient bien la courbure et ne s’effrite pas. Un peu difficile à démaquiller mais depuis que j’ai acheté le démaquillant respectissime de laroche posay, il part aussi facilement qu’un mascara classique, sans perdre la moitié de mes cils au passage surtout que j’aime avoir les yeux bien chargés de mascara!!

Maybelline mascaras are the best!!! For your laugh to tears problem you should try They are real by Benefit. That mascara stays there for EVER. I wore it once a month ago and I think I still have some of it on my lashes! Argh!! Looking forward to your make-up removers posts, as you can imagine :)

Je suis comme toi, j’adapte mon maquillage en été, à commencer par des changements de teintes pour suivre ma peau qui prend très vite le soleil.
Pour enlever les mascaras waterproofs, je n’ai encore rien trouvé de plus efficace que les huiles démaquillantes. Ma préférée est celle de Shu Uemura, mais plus simplement, Nuxe bio en a une pas mal non plus :)
I don’t know why people say that Bioderma can’t remove waterproof makeup. I use waterproof eye makeup products exclusively and they get removed just fine! I love the Covergirl waterproof formula and uses anything from the lashblast line + Japanese felt tip liquid eyeliner.
Moi j’adore le mascara Diorshow Iconic et je le porte peu importe la saison. Avant ca me semblait tres difficile de l’enlever, j’avais des cils qui tombaient, mais depuis que j’utilise le demaquillant Yeux Intense de Chanel, ce n’est plus le cas. Il demaquille d’un seul coup!
La fille est sublime avec ses sourcils naturels!

Je suis dans le même cas que toi (je ris aux larmes, je me touche sans cesse le visage, les yeux…). J’ai porté l’inimitable waterproof de Chanel pendant des années, en pensant qu’il était inévitable que le mascara coule un peu à la fin de la journée, et je pensais que le mascara waterproof limitait le plus les dégâts. (Je l’enlevais avec le démaquillant waterproof de Clinique take the day off, le plus efficace et agréable que j’aie essayé). Et un jour, j’ai essayé le Extreme Party Mascara de Bobbi Brown, pas waterproof, et… ma vie a changé. Vraiment. Oui, grâce à un mascara, parfaitement. Pour moi qui ai naturellement des cernes extrêmement sombres, un tout petit peu de mascara qui coule, loin d’être sexy, ça fait tout de suite panda shooté – donc, à la fin de la journée, tous les jours, je ressemblais à un panda shooté. Sauf que maintenant, avec le Extreme Party, mon mascara ne coule PAS. Enfin sauf quand je pleure, mais à part ça, c’est du béton armé. Et vu qu’il n’est pas waterproof, c’est moins compliqué à enlever le soir!

Pour le démaquillant waterproof, le biphasé “respectissime” de la roche-posay est top! Je l’utilise depuis 10 ans et il ne m’a jamais agressé les yeux ni la paupière
After a ballet dance performance, I would always use Ponds cleansing cream in the shower to take off all of my makeup. I’d put the cream on and while the water spray was on my face, I would use a soft cloth to gently wipe everything away. Then I would use my regular cleanser. My face was never irritated or dry and I could rinse the cloth before the makeup stained it.
Ponds is inexpensive and smells nice too.

I stay away from waterproof mascara even though it is (now was) the only thing that kept my lashes curled… Then I discovered Kevyn Aucoin Volume mascara.. Ohhh myyy ! Smudgeproof, panda eye proof, lots of laughs with old friends proof and most importantly full-day-at-work-with-no-mirror-then-straight-to-date-night proof ! Hourglass primer, foundation & lipglosses are THE best waterproof makeup products I have ever tried (Being a make-up artist myself too) Proven by Madonna too ;)

I have always had a hard time with mascara and they all run. I have moved to using Lastisse for long lashes (it really works and I only use half of recommended amount). Then once a month I get my brows and eyelashes dyed. Now all I wear is sheer colored foundation with sunscreen, curl my lashes and some blush. It is so nice not to have to deal with extra makeup.

I don’t usually comment on posts, but try using almondoil or coconut oil on a cotton pad for removing the watherproof mascara. I find those to oils, especially coconut oil, can remove almost anything and you can gice your eyelids and around a gentle but nice massage with the oil afterwords!
She’s so pretty, but a fine mascara application would be nicer on her face than the bristly lash look.
I used to do that look sometimes on a naked face, and all the boys in the family (father, uncle, brother, son, husband, boy cousins) and my male friends all hate it.
Sometimes I will apply a little mascara. The best is the lash conditioning one from By Terry in Burgundy! I then let it dry as I apply blusher and lip colour, then top my lashes with her Mascara Waterproofer. It does not move, and still helps my short Asian lashes to grow considerably whilst coming off easily with my usual face cleanser.
However- my easy face of the past six months, is using just four rice grains worth of Nars Highligting cream in Orgasm and Sand mixed with my moisturiser, a little Nars Siam or Exhuma on the cheeks, a finger swipe of Nars cream shadow in bronze close to my lashes, sometimes curl my lashes, and dab on Stila Convertible in Lotus or Nars Pure Matte Lipstick in Amsterdam patted on.
It’s the second easiest summer face for me.
However, the easiest summer and winter face for me is just the Nars Illuminating Highlighting Cream mixed with moisturiser, curl my lashes if there’s no eye colour, and a dab of Stila Lotus Convertible Cream on my lips.
I think I’m giving up mascara! I figure that my lashes are what they are— and I don’t mind others seeing what they look like sans mascara. The only thing I can’t do is, face the day with no lip tint or just a tiny bit of colour on my cheeks. I kind of lost my youthful bloom at thirty eight and since hitting forty three I’ve realised a touch of the above long lasting colours makes me look more alert.
