For a while now, I’ve wanted to come clean about my love of anklets.
So there you go. I confess. I. love. anklets.
Well, I know what you’re about to say : I suppose with a pair of shiny red stilettos, it could send the wrong message. BUT I think that with summer here, with some flats, it’s sensual and incredibly beautiful.
Ok, and now, I’ll offer a big smooch on the mouth to whomever figures out where this anklet came from, because frankly, its quite funny.

J’ai toujours beaucoup aimé porer ce petit bijou sexy, tant qu’il reste discret ! ;-)
C’est super joli , j’ai toujours adoré aussi, mais jamais trouvé celle qui me plaisait … Là, ça pourrait être la chaine d’une étiquette de fringue ou de sac ??? super fine à petites boules, et le petit tchitchou sur le côté pour l’attacher, non ?

I think my love for anklets comes from living next to the sea for man years, I think it’s an attitude and part of that summery aesthetic! I LOVE THEM :) and this one looks great!

The anklet is made from micro ball chain, I have seen them in Parisian beadstores, where you get them by the metre (and the locks too). Although this one is probably a fancy golden designer version (alas, someone else will harvest the smooch, haha).

Oh, I absolutely adore anklets! And for me it never had a “red-stiletto-wrong-message” kind of connotation. ;-) I reckon it always depends on the person who wears it…

I used a similar one I got of my Zara jeans as a bracelett. I had to cut it though as it was to big. It looks just like that so I vote for Zara jeans.

It’s either the little hang tag from a pair of Zara trousers, or the hang tag from a Coach bag which I wear wrapped around my finger as a ring. I’ve always thought of anklets as much apart of summer as a Breton top or sand between your toes. This summer Ashley Olsen has been favouring them and wearing them all over New York, which will definitely put a spot light on them. My father, who grew up in Latin America raised his daughters to understand that ankle jewelry was only ever worn by women of a certain kind of profession to identify themselves prospective customers and was never worn by proper ladies. Never the less I’ve secretly loved them for years and have converted many to bracelets but I’ve never worn one as it was intended.

Dans les années 60/70 la chaîne de cheville était une manière d’afficher son homosexualité pour les filles.
Par contre il y a, je crois, une signification différente si elle est portée à gauche ou à droite, chi lo sa ?
Je n’ai jamais été fan des chaînes de cheville celle-ci ne doit pas être très onéreuse on dirait les chaines que l’on trouve sur certains vêtements pour tenir les étiquettes.

I am CRAZY for anklets!! I had this gorgeous blue one my friend brought me back from Germany, until it broke from so much wear! I never took the thing off :D haha. Anklets make everything so much prettier and add so much more personality :D

I was confused by this post because here, in America, we refer to anklets as those little white (usually) socks that come up over your ankle and fold down one time. They were originally worn exclusively by the under 6 set. Infants wore them with little white baby shoes, and then later little girls wore them with little white or black patent mary janes. Now, of course, older girls wear them, sometimes to disingenuous effect, with high heels or mary janes. What you are showing here, is referred to in the US as an ankle bracelet. Don’t ask me why. Just a note for your translator, Tim. Love your blog, all the time!

I love wearing anklets. My preferred look is also the delicate gold chain, although I also have pearls and tennis style anklets. I also have a small collection of gold bangles which are big enough for me to wear comfortable around my ankles.
