French women have long mastered the art of effortless style - looking like you woke up stylish and didn’t try AT ALL. But I’ve noticed that easy style has taken very well to the sunny streets of LA where lucky west coasters get to dress for spring all year round (insert bitter New Yorker grunt). And no one this side of the 405 does it better than our friend Annina. She’s a stylist and one of the cutest people alive who never ceases to amaze when it comes to looking casual and chic all at the same time. We partnered with LA based brand Vince to spend a day with her as she styles their spring collection and goes about the easy cali life. Basically, we are packing our bags to join Garance and Annina in LaLa land.

Ces photos me donnent en effet, l’envie de faire ma valise et de m’envoler pour LA !
Je n’ai pas trop a me plaindre en ce qui concerne le climat en Floride ou je vis, mais j’echangerais, si c’etait possible, ma maison pour un bungalow pas loin de la plage a San Diego (ou j’ai vecu 5 ans), ou bien plus pres de LA, Malibu ou Santa Monica.
J’aime beaucoup la nouvelle mise en page, les photos animees et la premiere photo de Annina en chemise rayee et pantalon marine. :-)

I’m so happy that Garance is in Los Angeles! I moved here almost 30 years ago from Philadelphia and haven’t looked back. Yes…it is Spring all year long! One note for your writers…people from California don’t call it “Cali”. xoxo
The new design of the website looks so sunny and warm and fresh! I can’t help but think about California when I look at it. I’ve never been there but I feel like atelierdore brings a piece of it to me via the website. I really do feel this!
And I’d so love to go there! Maybe I can go once there is the open studio Garance was talking about? That would be a dream come true!

The west coast ease is rather unique. Unlike France our west coast residents think nothing of wearing yoga pants to brunch, sweat shirts to the office and sneakers everywhere! Don’t get absorbed by this carefree/careless vibe , it doesn’t suit everyone.

I hate to say it but I feel like all of these Venice women look the same — kind of blandly brightly curated. My favorite line from Love Style Life is “nobody perfect is cool, and nobody cool is perfect.” I think LA has a lot more “cool” to offer than these latest posts would suggest. The (relatively) cheaper areas are where the innovation is happening.
So beautiful. I love that these are easy to wear things that will compliment any closet you might have already.
