Et la voilà…
La dernière vidéo de la fashion week Automne-Hiver 2010 !!!
Pour clôturer, j’ai choisi Dries Van Noten.
Ses collections me touchent toujours à un endroit particulier.
Je ne sais pas pourquoi, mais je trouve qu’il résume bien la saison. Une saison nostalgique et intemporelle, mais aussi empreinte d’une énergie nouvelle et d’une poussée de désir incroyable de la part du public. L’électricité du show Céline en a vraiment témoigné.
On a aussi vu une fille nouvelle faire son apparition, plus fraîche, moins dure que celle des saisons précédentes, vous vous souvenez, toute de noire vêtue, arnachée de ses killer heels et recouverte de clous… La fille d’aujourd’hui a les joues roses, porte du camel, du kaki et un sac en bandoulière parce que c’est plus confortable.
Moi tout ça ça m’a rendue drôlement confiante pour l’avenir. Avez-vous eu la même sensation que moi ? Quelles ont été vos collections préférées ?

J’ai encore un peu de mal à m’habituer à cette nouvelle fille moins dure, justement… c’est pour ça que POUR LE MOMENT (parce que niveau fashion, j’ai appris à ne jamais être catégorique… hum) mon défilé préféré est celui de Burberry. Le côté militaire (encore!), les couleurs… tout m’a enchantée. Mais je suis presque sûre de me laisser emporter très vite par cette vague de minimalisme utilitaire qui commence vraiment à me faire de l’oeil! Merci pour tes vidéos Garance, c’était chouette de suivre cette fashion week à travers elles.
ah oui les clous, on en a vu assez comme ça!! basta! sauf sur les (jolis) sabots, c’est moche sur les sacs et les vestes, j’ai toujours détesté cet aspect du revival années 80…
Vive Max Mara, quoi!

and well, Dries van Noten is my all-time favourite designer. He manages to make clothes that are special, beautiful AND easy to wear, and has a great sense of fabrics and proportions. I love how he plays with artistic, nostalgic and ethnic influences. Grown up, but not boring. I hope to grow old (and not boring) wearing his clothes…

Aaah cette nouvelle fille, j’y crois beaucoup plus qu’à la cuirasse Balmain ! Toujours plus de poésie, et ça vaut aussi pour tes supers films.
J’aime beaucoup les couleurs de ce défilé Dries Van Noten. Le léopard, par contre, toujours pas !

Although I was a bit shocked by the reappearance of the combat trousers Dries von Noten was my absolute favourite of all the collections (I saw). Funnily I’m normally not even that big a Dries fan, but I thought this collection was the perfect combination of colours and textures, softness and fighting spirit and just pure wearability. I thought it was mesmerizing and your film captured it well.

Bravo pour toutes ces vidéos. Elles étaient vraiment originales et belles. Il y a une douceur qui se dégage de la façon dont tu filmes et édites les vidéos.
J’ai bien aimé le défilé Dries Van Noten mais pour cette saison, mon préféré reste Kenzo: c’est tout ce dont j’ai envie !

I’ve always been a Chloé fan! I keep telling my friends, that if I ever have the chance to choose what designer clothes to wear, or if I’m given the priviledge to go to fashion shows, I’d choose Chloé, Dries and Marni. Those are my top 3… always.

Dries is definitely my favorite designer! I guess he really sums it up as you mentioned that. I for sure need some more color, warmth and femininity :) I’d say that he and Phoebe Philo hit the all right spots for me. It wasn’t anything revolutionary, anything fashion forward but it was exactly the answer to what we want and how we want to look.

Dries is always one of my favorites. He NEVER disappoints. The prints are exquisite and the styling of the show is just perfection.

Très années 50…une allure folle!!! Pour ma part, j’ai craqué pour Sonia Rykiel, avec son charme parisien si irrésistible et puis Céline pour sa maîtrise de l’épure … une élégance parfaite!
I love this collection, Dries Van Noten is such an amazing talent. He combines wearablity with creativity and innovation. The only sadness for me is that in Paris, Milan, London, NY again again so few models of color. Truly we are still limiting the standards to beauty and there is no reason for it. We humans are so very beautiful, our diverse range of lovely skin colors is just one of our many assets, I do not understand why the fashion industry does not recognize. Or are they only mirroring a belief that white women are more beautiful than all others? I for do not believe that for one second. We are all beautiful! But to look at the magazines, the runways, etc of industry it seems to be a line they are trying to sell. Well I am not buying it.
It’s a beautiful and inspiring collection. I really like the mix of khaki with leopard print and brown leather gloves with rolled sleeves. Great tailoring, even though it’s bit masculine.
And the cool way how models are carrying bags… Casual, with a touch of a natural elegance!

Les meilleurs défilés pour l’instant étaient ceux de Max Mara et Céline!! Vrai bonheur.
Toutefois j’ai été très déçue par Louis Vuitton, les mannequins étaient trop « sexy » pour incarner cette nouvelle femme en longue robe. Par exemple Adriana Lima engoncée dans une longue jupe de dame c’est bizarre. Et le fait qu’un mannequin tombe en talons, montre que les chaussures ne sont pas très confortables, si un mannequin ne peut pas marcher avec même 10sec, qu’est ce que cela doit donner en vrai…!
Sinon les vidéos sont juste folles, pour la prochaine Fashion week, je n’attend plus que vos vidéos!!

merci Garance pour tout ce que tu nous fais partager … Il reste des ces défilés une impression de « vivement l’hiver prochain » on va mélanger tout ça… en espérant que l’été ne nous aura pas fait oublier la richesse de ces créations et que nous pourrons retrouver sur les portants autant de diversité!!!

pas vu tous les defiles, mais probablement Dries, comme d’hab. je suis une fan, mais je n’achete pas (encore). bizarre, non?
super joli, je suis hyper contente de retourner à un peu de couleur, car d’une le noir ça finit par être un peu répétitif, et de deux, j’ai un chat blanc à poils longs ^^
Et puis c’est plus doux le kaki, ça peut se porter de plein de façons différentes… Bref, un peu de douceur dans ce monde de brutes!
Sinon j’ai aimé le défilé chanel en particulier.. J’adore tout ce qui est un peu du domaine du fantastique, donc forcément, ça a fait travailler mon imagination!

les collections qui m’ont fait rêver: Marc « over the rainbow » Jacobs, « mad men » Prada, Tsumori « mille et une nuit » Chisato… et Georgio « retro » Armani.
la collection qui m’a bouleversée: Last Lee Alexander McQuenn, pour des reines de contes de fée, comtess Dracula, royaume de neige… rest in peace for ever and ever.

I’ve always admired Dries Van Noten. This year’s collection was incredible, the colours, the patterns, the extra feminine mixed with the military green. The formal mixed with the casual – I was in awe. If I had the means I would buy every single piece. I think he is one of those designers that fly under the radar which in a way I love. Here in the US, only those in the know are aware of his existence and I was laughing my head off (as in feeling very sorry for) the ignorance of those who criticize Maggy Gyllenghal (spelling?) for wearing one of his dresses to the Oscars. She was trashed and I personally thought she looked beautiful, refreshed and stood out.
I havent’ seen all the collections but everything from Dries Van Noten and some of the clothes from Celine as well as some from The Row would be on my imaginary closet.

My favorite shows were Celine and DVF.
The Dries Van Noten show was definitely my favourite, so I appreciate seeing you feature it. I am one of the happy ones sitting at home who delight in the opportunities provided by the new technologies – to see the shows and the clothes almost immediately. Gone are the days of waiting weeks and even months to have a look!

Thanks Garance for posting, I have always loved the detail in Dries VAn Noten work. The shoes at the begining of the clip called to me. I love the colours in his collection. Really nice for the fall/winter. Also the color palatte feature some of my favourite colours, am loving the green, its my favourite colour. The skirts were amazing, all different forms and shapes, love the volume in some of the skirts. And the floral prints, love the shine.

J’ai adoré! Je n’ai pas encore vu celle de max mara, mais pour l’instant c’est ma préférée, la plus aboutie. Ces regards, le plafond au début et cette musique!

On sent beaucoup de « gaieté » mais aussi comme une tension pleine de dramaturgie, comme dans un film italien…Je suis folle? Y’a que moi qui ressent ça ou bien?

mon défilé préféré parmi tous ceux que j’ai pu voir (j’en ai vu pas mal mais pas tous!!) c’est le defilé Sonia Rykiel. je l’ai A-DO-RÉ. Voir des filles joyeuse qui défilent, des filles qui nous ressemble avec en même temps toutes cette excentricité j’ai trouvé ca magique!!
petit clin d’oeil aussi au defilé Elie Saab le 1er auquel j’ai pu être invité, j’étais tous simplement emerveillé par toute cette beauté..

It’s so hard to choose just one favorite! If I must, I’ll say Celine, because the clothes are in sync with my own aesthetics – no bright colors or floral prints. But the one thing I don’t like about Celine (both spring and fall 2010) is the chunky shoes (similar to the awful clogs). I’d much prefer Isabel Marant’s pumps or Christian Dior’s thigh boots.
J’avais beaucoup aimé Dries Van Noten lors de la dernière Fashion Week, mais Chloé quand même…. quelle bombe. Les vidéos sont vraiment belles, et merci pour celle d’hier (je crois) avec l’interview d’Anna Wintour. Quel courage Garance d’avoir approché « nuclear Wintour ».

The wearability and interest of DvN I love of course, especially in the context of the gilded hall… But i have to say that of all the Paris videos Celine did it for me. The lines and details and the simplicity…
I also absolutely loved the mood you captured in the Dolce and Gabbana show, and especially the stimmung in the Marc Jacobs video.

i love hearing the models walk, their heels clicking as they strut. while i watch your videos, i have your wonderful smile in the back of my mind, sort of as a guide. only you can put a smiling and waving jared leto in your videos and NOT make me want to puke. if that’s not something rare and special, i don’t know what is. (normally he is so obnoxious to even look at for more than a second.) please continue to make & post your directed videos!

i love the clothes from this season. feminine and comfortable. i think its what we all want to wear!
I really loved last season, because I especially love black & killer heels… But there is something about this collection that is so beautiful, it almost breaks my heart. I wear so much black because I really think most designers and especially retailers rarely know how to pair colour with style, with cut, with fabric to make an elegant item. And this collection is one of the first instances when I have been seduced by the clothes because of the very wearable, very beautiful colour combinations. It’s subtle, too, which makes it even more perfect.
I don’t know – I think this video is a very unexpected favourite to me! Although, I love Max Mara and their philosophy behind the clothes…

I loved the video, the frame of freja at the ending was my favourite. And jared letto was there too!
The prints, the cuts, the shapes, everything was gorgeous. I think this season showed and amazing woman, powerfull, modern, fresh, perfect.
I have a lot of favourites, but the ones who almost made me cry was Alexander Mcqueen and Hermes.
Amazing work on this fashion weeks garance, congratulations, and thank you, you made me fell like I was there.
