Miu Miu Slipper
8 years ago by Brie Welch
Hi Brie –
I really don’t knnnoow about this one. :) I like the idea of the rebel but it needs to be « rebel with the craft » (sorry!). Looking at a Porselli and then over to these Miu Miu slippers, it’s hard to overlook the price for thick folds of material at the toes and heels (very pronounced in video link below). It’d be like walking around with sloppy dumplings on my feet… A very high cost to stand out as a rebel. :) They’d probably look great « in motion » though. What would Bill Cunningham say?

Ha! The idea of dumplings on your feet is all too real – but nonetheless I still love them :)
Need them all!

I have been eyeing these forever… wish I could afford them.
That are also almost the same available at Zara. Don’t know what your opinion is about this (Zara copying other’s work). But they are way more affordable.
Cool!

They definately have that ‘something about them’ quality.

I could never wear regular ballet flats – but these? I’m in.
Yep, kind of like them, too! :)

Reminds me of Amy W.!
I’ve a « punk » ballerina I stole from Mango on sale that are: 1/metallic. 2/with a ysl feel on it. 3/ pointed!!!! so yea that’s my everyday flats! http://www.fashionparadoxes.com/2016/07/27/the-process-of-taking-a-photo-of-yourself/
And yea, I’ve just DIY a MIU MIU Slides that looks craaaazy cool because 1/it’s furry pink with pearls. 2/ those slides didn’t hit the stores yet. 3/ no.2 was more than enough. http://www.fashionparadoxes.com/2016/07/23/diy-miu-miu-slides/
Couldn’t agree more! These blush ones are absolutely my favorite. Funny I should find this post, I just launched my design and travel blog today *super excited* and I’ve written a whole homage to this kind of pink! Your blog was one of the first ones I started reading, ever! And you have been a great inspiration when creating my own. I’d love it if you guys swung by http://dailydalili.com
My trip to Copenhagen, the best places in Stockholm and soon Tel Aviv are among the travel tips you’ll be able to read about in the near future. Hoping I’ve peaked your interest.
All my best

Au début je les détestais, et comme d’habitude avec la mode, j’ai appris à les aimer, et maintenant je trouve qu’elles rendent n’importe quel look fou !

Over time, I’ve gravitated towards the idea of trying to buy mainly « timeless » pieces–simple, elegant staples that mix-and-match effortlessly and won’t look terrible through the lens of time–so these are a little too « of-the-moment » for me. I’ve learned the hard way that trends just aren’t for me, and I’d much prefer regular flats to these.
That being said, I still love them–just not for me. They’re charming and fun, but they read VERY young to me (case in point, I would’ve flipped for these when I was a girly thirteen-year-old who also fancied herself a « punk »). Mentally filed these under: sweet, but not my look.
T’would be but verrry simple to make your own version of this shoe. xo
Oh yes! This is so 1980’s punk new wave radness Class of 87! Haha. We used to shop at Capezio for ballets and marker them and wrap them in scarves, and GIANT SAFETY PINS, and sew buckles on and buttons too, and of course loads of concert buttons! That’s what you did when you were going to your first concerts at 16… so fun… Wore them full-skirts and cigarette pants from the thrift store.
Chaque année à la même période c’est Miu Miu qui créé le buzz niveau chaussures. Je me rappelle encore de la glitter boots.
