Hier, j’ai croisé Cédric pas loin de chez moi, comme ça, trop cool en train de lire son bouquin au soleil. Bien sûr au début je lui ai parlé dans mon sublime totally fluent english, et bien sûr il n’a pas eu besoin de plus d’un centième de seconde pour me demander : « Tu es française ? ».
Ok, ok. Ok, je sais ce que vous allez me dire : ça m’apprendra à ne pas mettre ma casquette des Yankees. Two frenchies in NYC. Je lui parle donc de sa chemise en jean, je lui dis que je la trouve chouette, et là il me montre le truc qui me foudroie sur place de romantisme, je m’en suis toujours pas remise.
Le coeur que sa femme a brodé à l’intérieur de la poche de sa chemise. Ah ! Pfff. Ces petites choses là, j’adore.

C’est marrant, avant même qu’il me montre la broderie, je lui disais en rigolant (et dans mon anglais approximatif) qu’il était vraiment une vision romantique de NYC, tout cool avec son livre, comme ça, genre que si j’avais voulu recréer la situation ça l’aurait pas fait (ouh la je sais pas si tu me comprends la, je suis un peu épuisée ;-)

Je chavire !… je craque complètement pour ce genre de petites attentions qui embelissent le quotidien. Je faisais pas mal de petites surprises croquignolettes à mon amoureux au début, mais c’est mal je me suis relachée… En tout cas il me semble que ce petit coeur brodé est la plus jolie déclaration qui soit.
En même temps je comprends qu’il faille être particulièrement attentive avec un garçon comme ça parce qu’avec ce regard, il doit les attirer les filles !

I learned your blog recently and I am immediately your fan.
I am fascinated by images, drawing and articles, but also by the people stories you post here.
I read it every day if I can.
However, I am surprised/disappointed by the comments and discussions. They seem more like a praising rather than a discussion. Seems like everybody has the same opinion, which is basically singing a hymn song to whatever appears on the blog.
I want the least to offend you by anything sounding like critics, but would dare to suggest stimulating somehow a discussion and arguments between participants.
For example, the article about Agatha and Balmain.
In my opinion, Balmain is a piece of art, like a paining in Louvre, and is there to admire. It needs a beautiful tool like Agatha – together they are timeless. It also shows us the moving waves in our life and appearance.
However, many of the pieces have little to do with reality of life, where unfortunately we are not all looking like Agatha, but shorter, fatter, all with our so-called imperfections which make life interesting/horrible.
I am a display architect and professionally don’t have anything to do with your world. I am amateur there, but fashion is my passionate hobby. So, probably, I sound to you like a child talking about higher matters. But still my question is:
How Balmain contributes to my world? And isn’t it kind of secret society thing, while the rest of us stays outside seeing photo’s of the same jacket again and again in all the fashion magazines?

@ Volga: i agree with what you wrote… and i might add, although i always look at fashionable closing like a piece of art, i would like just for once to see on any street style blog or any fashion blog a « normal women » as in women that wear something above a 36 or 38 size (European standards) so i can relate to. I love fashion, i love to read blogs and watch how people dress around the world but basically i just can look at it from an artistic point of view and not more because these women are not me and these women are not other women i know and see everyday!

D’abord, je suis trop cotente pour Cedric, parceque ca va lui faire beaucoup de traffic sur son site, cette photo! Et puis ensuite, j’adore ADORE l’idee de photographier les photographes…eux qui sont toujours derriere la camera, de voir leur face, un peu… Il a l’air un peu timide, ce qui le rend totalement irresistible, comme si il savait que cette photo allait faire des vagues dans la blogosphere. J’adorable!

C’est incroyable, parce que c’est absolument tout ce que j’aime, tout ce que j’ai toujours rêvé de faire, et je n’en revient pas qu’il existe un metier qui semble aussi parfait !
Je voulais donc vous demander (vous supplier même) de me donner quelques informations ! Ce serait vraiment génialissime, vraiment trop trop gentil, si vous m’indiquier, même brêvement, les études et le parcours qui vous a permis d’en arriver là, et ce que vous faites exactement maintenant, car du haut de mes 17ans, je suis un peu perdue dans toutes ces formations qui existent, et je rêve vraiment de faire « comme vous » :)

C’est cool comme idée :) C’est bien un truc de femme de penser à chaque détail de la vie comme ça.
En tout cas ce qui est déprimant c’est de savoir qu’à Paris il fait gris et il pleut depuis 3 jours alors qu’à NY il fait un temps trop classe.
PS : il paraît que l’accent frenchie est le plus bel accent du monde, c’est pas moi qui l’ai dit hein et c’est pas non plus une légende urbaine.

sinon ça ma fait bizarre la première photo : on croirait une photo de mode, mais une petite chose la différencie d’une photo qui aurait pu être extraite d’une série mode : l’alliance. C’est perturbant de voir comme ça m’a sauté aux yeux. Il n’y a JAMAIS d’alliance dans les photos de mode. Je ne sais pas trop ce que ça veut dire. hmmmm……
