Malgosia Bela. J’adore cette mannequin. Je suis sûre que vous l’adorez aussi. Ici, je l’ai prise en photo en premier rang du défilé Saint Laurent… J’ai passé un bon moment à la regarder.
J’aime bien son mystère, le fait qu’elle ne défile pas, le fait qu’elle n’ait pas l’air d’une ado, et puis aussi qu’elle ait été dans quelques-unes de mes campagnes et séries de mode préférées de ces dernières années. Définitivement l’une de mes mannequins préférées.

My favourite model is hard to say, Garance… I am from argentina and I look up to gisele bundchen, but mainly the ones with normal proportions and beautiful faces, like behati prinsloo… Now if I want to be classic and high fashion, I would say lily cole or my favourite nineties model, cindy crawford.

I wouldn’t say she’s beautiful, but she trully is a very talented model, quite unforgettable. And Polish! :) My favourite models are Karlie and Jac. I also admire Kasia Struss, who was present at many shows during fashion weeks, not only because she’s Polish, bot also because she looks like an ordinary girl that can be spotted in every corner. Yet she’s quite successful.
Je ne pense pas qu’elle soit belle, mais elle est vraiement tres talenteuse et son image est tres memorable. Nous sommes tres fiers d’elle en Pologne! I am not someone who knows anything much about fashion. In fact, it is your blog that inspires me so much to actually pay attention to dressing well. So firstly, thank you Garance, thank you so much. I have read all your posts, those that are available in English. And pretty much I have followed you for about a year. I think that there are many more people who are following you may not leave comments. And this is my first time commenting here. But because I really want to answer your question « Who’s your favourite model? » I really love this model, she has the most beautiful smile and laugh I’ve ever known since watching models and looking at high fashion videos. I’ve always wanted to comment or ask you one day if you have ever met her in real life too. So here we go! I will tell her who she is ^_^
There is a very distinctive aura around my favourite model. Her androgyny is something that sets her different from the others. I’ve gotta say that she has a quirky catwalk style that makes me recognise her every single time the camera angle is on her walking. Her name is Freja Beha Enrichson!
So, if you do fashion campaigns or do photoshoots with her one day… Will you take a picture of her for me?

Haa les mannequins, définitivement un de mes sujets préférés… Je passe mon temps à accumuler les photos « off duty » sur mon ordi, je les trouve toujours très inspirantes !
Avant je ne jurais que pas Sasha Pivovarova, je trouve qu’elle dégage un truc de dingue, avec ses yeux qui pourraient nous ensorceler en un regard. Malheureusement elle s’est absentée des podiums depuis quelques temps car elle a eu un bébé.
J’aime aussi beaucoup Natasha Poly, je suis ravie de la retrouver régulièrement dans les pages du Vogue Paris. Karlie Kloss est très jolie et j’ai du mal à croire qu’elle soit plus jeune que moi! Elle a l’air rigolote, toujours le sourire aux lèvres… C’est rafraîchissant de voir un mannequin comme ça.
Freja Beha est aussi une de mes favorites, pour son look androgyne unique, son allure, son mystère…
Magdalena Frackoviak, pour sa baby face. Je la trouve vraiment magnifique.
En vrac, j’aime beaucoup aussi Constance Jablonski, Kasia Struss, Cara Delevingne, Liu Wen (j’aime beaucoup la nouvelle vague de modèles asiatiques!), Sigrid Agren, Anja Rubik, Coco Rocha, Anna Selezneva, Jac, Anabela Belikova…
Je remarque qu’en ce moment, sur les podiums, il y a une nouvelle vague de mannequins dont j’ai encore du mal à me familiariser avec, et que la plupart de celles précédemment citées défilent de moins en moins, au profit d’éditoriaux ou pubs…. Dommage :/

Parmi les mannequins actuels, Arizona Muse pour son mystère et sa beauté classique et Bianca Balti pour sa fraîcheur et sa petite ressemblance avec Sophia Loren. J’ai vu cet été une expo à Rome qui lui était consacrée au Marché Trajan et les photos étaient superbes. J’aime aussi beaucoup les tops des années 1970-80 comme Laurent Hutton (bien sûr !), Brooke Shields et Marpessa et ses yeux verts que j’aimerais revoir, comme Patrizia Pilotti. A ce sujet, il faut revoir les magnifiques photos de Francesco Scavullo.
Mine is definitely Maricarla Boscono because she is original, beautiful in no obvious way and she has a great walk. The other one is Natalia Vodianova, simply fresh, always smiling and sooo positive.

J’aime beaucoup Lara Stone et Bette Franke, bien qu’elles aient toutes les deux beaucoup maigri ces dernières années et je trouve ça dommage car elles avaient vraiment des corps fantastiques (Bette Franke était décharnée pendant cette Fashion Week… quelle tristesse).
La première dégage une espèce de « force tranquille » qui me plaît bien ; la seconde beaucoup de douceur (qui se transforme en anémie maintenant qu’elle est très maigre).
J’aime aussi beaucoup la japonaise Tao Okamoto, et je dois dire que j’ai un faible pour la sublime Natalia Vodianova qui est à mes yeux l’une des plus belles femmes du monde, avec ce truc dans son visage qui reste très enfantin et que j’adore.
Et Bianca Balti, qui est absolument magnifique ! Quelle beauté !
Et puis bien sûr Laetitia Casta, qui dégage en photo un truc absolument dingue.

Aymeline Valade is having a moment, no? I am loving her look right now. She kind of looks like Isabel Marant but in a more model-esque way. She is a perfect transition from Freja…not that Freja is out in anyway but they both have that look – strong, independent, effortless, cool, and sexy!

I like a lot Raquel Zimmerman, Erin Wasson, Daria Werbovy and of course Giselle Bundchen. All these women, I have been mentioned – for me have something in common – there is a kind of mystery, which is inside them, and is all about the world far away from « model’s world », and that’s I do appreciate the most.
I have so many favourite models, but my all-time favourite definitely has to be Sasha Pivovarova. She’s just the best! Oh, and Karlie Kloss and Lara Stone also make me excited about an editorial :)

I am completely thrilled at the move towards the use of models that are of a more relevant age. How can a fouteen year old sell something to a woman of thirty, besides that, they ‘teens’ do not have the air that comes along with age. Can’t teens be featured in teen magazine and sell to teens? Wouldn’t that be more befitting. I don’t understand why a woman would want to be younger, we truly get better with age. As a matter of fact, i feel younger than I ever have now. That doesn’t mean that I will tell my age, it is just a number. It is the maturity that I am referring to here. Great post, and gorgeous image!!

Wow, I was just sitting in my apartment (in Warsaw) reading Your blog and out of nowhere I see this post about Ma?gosia Bela! It’s so amazing, because I got an impression that in Poland (she’s Polish) she’s more popular for acting (she stars in that great show produced by HBO) than modeling. So to see how different is the way people perceive her on the outside of our country, makes pretty big impression.

Malgosia is one of my favourites, I like Lara Stone, Shalom Harlow, Nadja Auermann, Crystall Renn (in her thinner normal-sized version), and some of the youngest ones Kasia Struss, Zuzanna Bijoch. Ondria Hardin stands out too, but she should wait few years before she starts any career, 14 is far too young!
