  • This post can’t be more parisian! The girls, their effortless, but chic at the same time, style, a glass of red wine at the Canal’s edge…I’m desperately jealous!!!!
AWESOME pictures Garance! Thank you so much!

  • Magnifique presentation !!!

  • Ah, miss and love that! Picnic-ing on foods bought at Monoprix whilst drinking ‘expensive’ Champagne out of Styrofoam cups…

Meanwhile…LOVE that Dries Van Noten dress!

  • come back to Paris, moi j’dis, Garance!! :-)

  • Hi Garance

I can’t help but wonder – is it the move to NYC that brought your blog (or business rather) to world class level it represents right now? Did you have to leave Paris or do you think your blog would still have the impact it does right now if you had stayed in Paris?

  • I miss Paris, I miss the left bank, I miss the food!!

    http://mimlicious.com/2014/09/29/vive-le-france/

  • I love your pictures they are great!!
i think what makes the different is that French knows that taking the time to drink and eat is something that isn’t a necessity but pleasure..so they have always knew how to take their time and enjoy…In New York or the USA ..it’s doing doing.. something so you will do gym you will eat but you don’t take your time…..you take your coffee to go you don’t just sit and watch people…although the difference are less than it used to be many years back ..and that’s because people are traveling so much…but at the same time it’s nice to discover different way of life in different places in the world..isn’t it?
that’s what makes Paris Paris and NY New York….

  • I think that only pertains in the U.S. to certain cities and the younger ages. I live in Madison, a college town, and it looks just like these pics at certain times.

  • This is the coolest. I’d love to live outside of America where the primary focus is not just about making $ and more on enjoying the life you’re living on the resources you have.

  • I completely agree, Paris is relaxing because relaxation is in its DNA. In Paris people take long lunch breaks and take an entire month off from work in the summer and their economy is just fine. America could learn something from this fascinating city if we’d all just relax and enjoy the little things :-)

  • love how you are putting the pics up!

  • Brava Garance, il culto dell’apero.
    ciao e bentornata a Parigi.

Bravo

  • Garance, you’ve outdone yourself again! These photos are gorgeous. Thank you for taking us on your adventures with you!

  • Wanna be there…bad! Did you take these shots…so different than your usual style…nice!

I love the apero hour! When I was in Paris this summer, I wouldn’t hesitate to stop by Le Flore or Le Palette for a Pastis. I’d sit and scribble in my journal, sometimes read a book or magazine or just sit back and watch the scene unfold. I never do this in New York. I wouldn’t know how to or where to go!

    http://www.pardonmyobsession.com/

  • It’s a shame we don’t have apero hour here in NYC! It would be so nice to just unwind from the day, drink a coffee or glass of wine, watch people, have a chat with friend and relax.

  • The pictures, layout, and presentation are blended to absolute perfection & beauty! Gorgeous <3 <3 <3

  • Mon dieu cette robe ! Quelqu’un saurait-il d’où elle vient ? Elle est absolument magnifique !

    Merci d’avance !
    Marie

  • Agree!!!!!!!!!! There is something so different about NYC and Paris. The two are unique and
none can be compare to the other. :) Why can we have both simultaneously.

  • Summer in Paris is beautiful. It’s actually always beautiful. Even during winter!

    http://www.lashoegirl.com

  • Can’t wait for these moments when I move to Paris next week!

  • I would venture to say that the US culture is very uptight in comparison to many European, and even many non-European, cultures. I usually have a glass of wine or beer at the end of the day and I think many people around here frown upon it. What a shame! I just saw a fabulous video on NYT website about Copenhagen. It too featured the same thing–people sitting outside, enjoying the outdoors and each other, casually drinking on the streets. I always feel like I am not meant for this culture; I need to be somewhere else. We do not make relaxation a priority and it will get the best of us. BTW, the haircut on the brunette is adorable!!!

  • That’s interesting because I don’t drink and feel like people look down on me because of that. Still, I don’t necessarily think it’s strange to end your day with a drink. Maybe that’s because I know so many people who enjoy drinking.

    http://totalbettymedia.com

  • Funny, altho there is no drinking on the streets here, (Phoenix) there are sidewalk cafes with drinking, talking and laughing. We even inhale diesel fumes just like in Paris!

  • Superbes photos!

  • one of the cool things in these photos is no-one, or very few, are texting or playing with their devices rather than enjoying their friends!! nice!!
    big contrast to Americans…

  • Mon quartier! Merci Garance <3

  • Ah! I can’t wait till I see Paris this December!

  • Ah! I can’t wait till I see Paris this December!
